Portable laptop max 14inch for coding and light gaming

Here again I'm asking help for finding a decent laptop. I have recently bought a MBP13 but I think I'm going to return it since it runs extremely hot.

I have a 1500 euros budget. The laptop screen must be no more than 14 inch.

I'll be using it for coding with python, web developing, running a virtual machine and visual studio professional and light gaming (league of legends).
Plus I need to bring it with me about three times a week.

This time I would like to buy a laptop with a good cooling system. I don't need much power. A 15W CPU is perfect. I don't need a dedicated graphic card. The important thing is that it should not overheat like crazy and throttle :(

I'll tag @5x5 since he helped me last time but then the topic got closed.

Thanks in advance for suggestions!

Many configs are available of it. The 4600 and 1650 config is about 1300 euro when available.

On Asus Store at the moment is only available a version with 2060 and 32GB of ram. I'll check if I can find another cheaper version :)

Can you please link it? I'm not able to find it..

On official website these configurations are not listed https://www.asus.com/it/Laptops/ROG-Zephyrus-G14/Tech-Specs/

Maybe they are not available in my country

What online retailers do you use that I could check?

Asus website only suggests their online store. I usually use Amazon, Mediaworld and Euronics but I can't find it on these sites

Nope, but I think the XPS 13 will overheat...

It certainly does.

Look at the ThinkPad T14(s) with a Ryzen 7 4700U/4750U. If your goal is high performance in an ultrabook, then your choice should be Renoir. NoteBookCheck recently compared the ProBook 455 and 450. The 4700U ran 140% faster than one of the best ULV i7s while also being nearly 20*C cooler. The comparison is on my profile if you're interested.

Currently, business-class models with Zen 2 such as the T14 are extremely good for what you pay.

Alternatively, the HP Envy x360 with a 4700U is also a fantastic option. I'll also add the Asus ZenBook 14, though this one has more aggressive power targets so it's not as fast as other 4700U-laptops (still double the performance of mobile i7s)

Thanks. I was looking at the T14.

Of these laptops which runs cooler? And which do offer a good battery life?

Thanks! ❤️

The ThinkPad is by far the best. The T series are high end business-class devices. They offer extreme durability, reliability and silent cooling with excellent battery life. A close second is the Envy x360 but, of course, the Envy is not water-resistant or dirt/sand/shock resistant.

Here's what I mean - ignore the language, all you need to know is in video format

Which display option do you suggest on the t14?

And what about x1 carbon?

Thanks

The 400 nit low-powered one. The brighter one with privacy guard has terrible viewing angles. From what I've read, it's TN panel levels of bad. The X1 Carbon is nice but the CPU is kind of on the weaker side compared to Renoir, particularly regarding graphics. I'd only get that if you value light weight. Even then, there's the T14s, which isn't that much heavier.

The 400 mitt one. X1 needs to be updated to AMD Renoir. The current i7 is three times slower than a 4700U

Okay. The T14 will take 5-6 weeks to get delivered :( I was wondering if there was an alternative in your list of laptops maybe with a bit more of premium feeling.

the t14s I heard that overheats. The t14 has a plastic touchpad and this can be a problem :(

The AMD T14s is very cool. It's also a magnesium cage design. Doesn't get more premium than that but if it's out of range, the HP Envy x360 with AMD

On reddit I read that overheats. I do not need all that power.

Something less powerful and more premium ? I can live with a quad core processor :)

Idk I'm gonna check all these laptops now.
