Please help - Recommend me the best 27" 1440p 144hz for gaming (UK market)

Guyver1

So I've just started a return of 2x Asus VG27WQ monitors as after 3 weeks of trying I can no longer put up with the horrific ghosting/smearing on this panel.

I'm looking for the best gaming performance (with decent colour gamut secondary as I don't do any media creation or content creation but occasionally work in photoshop as a hobby)

I'm currently on a GTX 980 so currently don't have access to Gsync/FreeSync but will be upgrading when big navi/Ampere releases so this will be a future consideration.

Requirements:

27"

1440p

144hz min

the absolute minimum ghosting/smearing

UK Market

I am eyeing up this currently - https://www.scan.co.uk/products/27-asus-xg279q-gaming-monitor-ips-2560x1440-144hz-170hz-oc-1ms-hdr-10001-400cd-m-hdmi-dp-g-sync-comp

However, should I be looking at TN panels?

TN panels are only good if you want the absolute best response times. if you willing to sacrifice even slightly, IPS and VA panels are much better in so many ways.

I highly reccomend going the to HardwareUnboxed YT channel to get reviews. they have detailed in-depth reviews about all sorts of things about monitors. (including reponse times, input lag, ghosting etc.)

it's not on that site but the LG 27GL850-B is hands down the best 1440p/144hz monitor, the aorus FI27Q has really basic HDR features if u can't find a L850-B (but seriously if i had 500 bucks this is the only monitor i'd get)

no point for TN panels now that the samsung g7 shows that ips can do 240hz.

These three are good at around $500 mark.

If you want to save few quids, you can see for how much these two go for.

And here are more options if you want to do even more research.

I wouldn't touch VA panels since you don't like ghosting at all, but you can read more about the panel types from here.
