i7 9700k thermal throttling at 4.5 mhz

one more thing the thermal reading on my asus Ai suite is 5 degress lower than my intel exterme tuning utility which one should i believe?

i'd use hwinfo for temps, then look at hwinfo temps and see whether it matches up to the ai suite or intel.

I just ran the benchmark on intel extreme tuning utility the temps from my ai suite never went above 84 degrees but the intel benchmerk was over throddleing at 100 degrees. i set the cache at 4.3 and set the core voltage  at 1.1volts in the intell benchmark and the temp went up to 100

I also ran a benchmark on the ai suite and it too overheated.

but looking at the cpu temps the cpu never went above 57 degrees? crazy stuff right.

maybe the mortherboard sensors are out of wack. I just might need a new motherboard.

I dl the software it look like the asus ai suite is reading the right temps.

maybe if i got a watercooler for the cpu it would help and some sp fans cause this case does have a foam filter.

this noctua nh-d15 chromax black cpu cooler may not be ideal for cooling.

whats the vcore on the cpu? if vcore and power draw is normal then it's airflow.

current vcore is 1.296 max vcore is at 1.456 and average vcore 1.315

The D15 should handle a 9700K no problem (assuming you've also got ample airflow in your case). It's about on par with most 280mm AIOs.

Are you sure you're reading the Vcore and not the VID? 1.456V sounds a little too high even just for a random idle voltage spike.

Are you sure you're reading the Vcore and not the VID? 1.456V sounds a little too high even just for a random idle voltage spike. 

well i saw vcore on the hwinfo program and that is where i got those figures

well i adjusted the volt on the dram to 1.350 cpu vccio to 1.05 pch core volt to 1.0 cpu standby voltage to 1.00 and the cpu system agent voltage to 1.10. my cpu frequency is at 4.5 and the cpu cache ratio to 4.3 . any one has anymore voltage setups for 4.9 on the cpu frequency?
