i would love to see a chip getting 5.2 cache, doesn't happen, steve got a chip that couldnt even hit 4.8

Here you go. No it's not 5.2ghz. Its 5.1ghz.

so 4.5 cache ration is fine as long as the cpu vccio voltage is at 1.1v

Click the screen shot below where all the cpuz tabs are open.

Then

Take note the date top left side of the submission.

And that cpu was running 5.3ghz.

The submission is for DDR4 frequency with Cas 15.

Damn man. What's your gig? You say it's not possible and then bam. There it is.

my point was not what score u got lol, you advising someone to push 4.8 cache or even 5.2 is just irresponsible lol. nor is telling him 1.1v io/sa without knowing what speed is memory's running at. Also running cache above core freq is just wrong. nice weird flex though

It does add heat. So this is possible.

But these chips are just naturally hot.

85-90c is a normal temp. No worries until 100c,but should keep it 85c at load if possible.

If you still have issues, upgrade the cooler.

Again. You said not possible. I only showed YOU the possibility.

And my response to @TofuHaroto was that overclocking cache does bring performance.

Go back read the thread again.

You gave bullshit value of 1.25v Vccio. He only needs 1.1v and not to exceed 1.2v.

cinebench r15 and r20 below 100C is the absolute minimum, run each 3-5x in a row, if you do video editing, bench with blender.

Monitor the temperature of the cpu while under a full load. If you hit 100c, it's too hot.

ur running 5.3 core with 5.1 cache, which is still cache below core, still witing on that 5.2 cache, don't fry ur cpu in the process tho :)

1.1v isnt enough for some cases, which is again unresponsible advice. 1.25v is reasonable since that's the stock on some boards, while 1.1v introduces instability on some systems,

Well considering my geothermal loop allows my overclocks, I highly doubt Shrimps chip will fry any time soon.

Other way around. 1.1v is usually enough for most cases.

And dont tell me what responsible is and isnt. Just take proven wrong nicely and we carry on.

And who the fuck is Steve? Do tell!! Maybe I can help him overclock or perhaps even test his cpu for him. I'm well equipped.

cache should be 200mhz below ur cpu frequency, running it above ur cpu freq will cause instability, i'm 100% sure about that. This came straight from intel, just search it up on youtube,

His system is booting. So far I think he's doing just fine.

Well let me see what I can do for you. Maybe I cant get cache higher than core..... but the OP already did that.... and you said again... not possible.

well thank you very much I've lowered the cpu vccio to 1.15v and lowered the cpu cache to 4.3. I'm going to beanch test this to see if it still over heats at 4.5 cpu frequency. wish me luck.
