Can the ram be upgraded?

maybe thats the max configuration you can buy from hp and even if there is 1 slot i dont see why you cant put a 16gb module into that 1 slot

Some mobos have a RAM limit like my laptop couldn't upgrade that

why did they not build the motherboard to jedec's standards? otherwise im pretty sure its the cpu itself that limits the ram

Then it's a product listing error because the non-uk page is completely different. Additionally not even HP lists that spec, they only list that the default configuration is 2x4GB. You also have the manufacturer who answered the original question stating that 32GB (2x16GB) is the max

Not sure why, my laptop could be the cpu but that one I'm not sure

There is already 2 modules in there so you'll need to buy 2 new 8 gb modules. Might not be worth it
