Shall i trade my amd 3600 to 10400?

Hello guys. I bought r5 3600 and i had an old cooler GTX h110i. When i used the bracket to use the cooler in the 3600 i had very high temps, the cooler is not connected to the cpu fully, maybe because its a bad bracket. 

 

Anyways i had a trade offer for :

My 3600 + b450 aorus elite to i5 10400 with h410 mobo.

I am really scared of the h410 mobo. I have an option to pay 50-70$ extra for z490 gigabyte. 

 

So what do you think guys?? Shall i do it??. 

My point of this trading that I don't wanna lose my cooler and play on the stock fan. Is it a good point?

Why would you downgrade the CPU AND Board both? Makes no sense. Keep your 3600 and just get a 30$ cooler. The 3600 doesn't need a lot of cooling, it's one of the most efficient CPUs on the market. It's also faster than the 10400

In reality, just sell the AIO as, considering its age, it's likely not safe to use now.

Just use the stock cooler of the 3600 for now then

Terrible because a worse CPU and board is a much noticeable tradeoff than just a louder cooler. You could power limit the 3600 harder to help with noise and it will still be the faster CPU.

No, just no.

 

You're getting a worse deal in every possible way. There are very, very few workloads where a 10400 will be better. The R5 3600 is all-around just a better option in its price class currently speaking.

you can also buy brackets as spare part for the GTX h110i.

 

but i would also go with stock cooler and not downgrading your CPU mobo.

 

Coolers for 3600 is also a cheap component if you are up for air cooling, so stick to stock and upgrade if you find it to loud.

 

regarding temps the do also reach quite high temps, but you can just search the forum for that part, is has been brought up quite often

No your getting a terrible platform ( aka H series boards ) and a locked chip that won't even perform as good. 

Keep the original board and the 3600.

I already have the bracket. I bought one but its not connected fully to the cpu for some reason . Its killing me.

Because the cooler is old and unsafe for use. After a few years AIOs always leak, gunk up and fall apart. Just junk it and upgrade that to a reliable air cooler from BQ Quiet or Noctua

What is killing me more that yesterday i was using it with my i5-6600k and it was working perfectly. But i guess i will junk it

Because the mounting and dimensions are massively different. Anyway, AIOs should not be used for longer than their warranty period as that is the longest time the OEM has determined the AIOs can run without failure.
