Do you really need 650-750W though?

I'm not familiar with either of them other than the RM, but they're all in tier A on the forum's PSU tier list, so I guess either will be a good choice.

Current PC spec. in my profile.
Can I realistically call myself a gamer, if I only play ONE, twenty year old game...?

Did you test boot it, before you built in into the case?

WHY NOT...?!

i heard rm doesnt have japanese caps while the others have. btw i will be upgrading my pc to ryzen 5 3600x and rtx 2070 super so wana get a future proof psu.

Japanese caps don't make or break a PSU. Also, most capacitors (including those branded as japanese) are produced in China anyway, if that means anything to you.

Look for an RM550x or Straight Power 11 550W. A system with a 3600X and 2070S will pull 350W tops at full 100% load.

alas rmx series is not available :( I am stuck with those options. Just 80 rs difference on a corsair 650rm and antec hcg 850w is enticing but i dnt know much about psus.

Hm, in that case I'd also look for Seasonic's Focus PX or Prime Platinum.

If those are also not available, and neither is the Straight Power 11, I'd probably also go for the RM650 out of the ones you mentioned.

You can safely save some money and go with a 550 watts power supply.

Ryzen 3600x consumes up to around 100 watts and the 2070 super consumes up to around 230 watts... the rest of the system won't get close to 70 watts so you're looking in total at 400 watts out of 550 watts at most. Lots of room for upgrades.

i've used two of the older RM's and i've been okay with them despite not having the most desirable caps

have a look at whether the CXM or TXM ranges are available to you

i bought a txm from amazon just a few days back and after 1 hour it restarted my pc with a loud pop. happened 2 more times after that so i stopped using that psu and returned it. heres the info i have shared on this forum

The label is gray.  The old RM had a yellow/white label.  So if the label is gray, it's the new version.  It's still 80 PLUS Gold efficiency.

News flash about Japanese capacitors:  They're not Japanese.  They're Japanese brand, made in China.  Often times, in the same factories making the non-Japanese brands.

Hitachi is so non-Japanese now, they're not even using the Hitachi name moving forward anymore:  https://www.hitachi-chem.co.jp/english/information/2020/n_200128h8a.html

Get the RM.  It's a good PSU:  https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/corsair-rm750-power-supply,6172.html
