Is My Custom Build Ok it needs some changes?

All I need to know if this build is ok so I can start buying and building the parts and if there are other recommended changes I could add or remove.

 

My Budget (including currency): $5000

use Ryzen processor and equivilant mobo. 

Ram is fine. 

I would suggest with your budget a much beefier storage solution (i.e. 1tb nvme ssd + more TBs hdd or sata ssd).

Gpu looks good and the case if fine so long as you like the asthetic. 

PSU is overkill but if you want it, its never good to cheap out on a PSU.

 

Edit: i meant that in my opinion ryzen is better but if you prefer there is absolutly nothing wrong with the 10900K.

i am in the middle of switching to amd myself, but a 10900k is a killer cpu. if that's what the op wants, go for it.

1. NVidia's next gen graphics card are due the end of this year (maybe AMD since consoles have their new architecture), if your current system can still hold up, dont upgrade yet. Also AMD's next gen CPUs are due around that time frame.

 

2. Unnecessarily overkill PSU

 

3. 2x16GB is better for overclocking, though I get that 4 sticks look better.

Solid build! You don't need the thermal paste though, what the cooler comes with is totally fine. Seriously, don't even bother changing it. Plus, AS5 is conductive, so if you did drip a little somewhere, your going to have a fun smoke show. I have used it for years, but what the water cooler comes with is totally fine :)

If his build is for gaming, which is appears to be, definitely don't tell him to get AMD. AMD offers incredible value for almost everything, gaming is not one of those things. For the most FPS... 10900k 100% no questions asked.

 

If this was a game sometimes, render sometimes, video edit sometimes, compile sometimes, yes, AMD 3900 all the way.

 

OP, if its for gaming, fantastic choices. an NVMe SSD couldn't hurt, and a 860 pro is mostly pointless, just get an 860 Evo.... or a 970 Evo NVMe drive instead. The "pro" SSD's don't really offer anyone anything useful...

Looks like a nice build, but I'll reiterate what some others have already said:

  • Your PSU is massively overkill and a waste of money
  • You don't need thermal compound
  • Don't get a 2080Ti when the replacement is this close to release
  • The Pro SSD is useless to you, just get the standard one

10900K is not better to get a Ryzen 12-core or 16-core? Or just gaming I would aimed for 10700K unless a game you got is insanely CPU demanding... OwO
