USB4 adds Display Port

USB4 is expected to come out between Q3 2020 and Q1 2021 with supported phones hopefully arriving in time for the holidays. As if having a USB4/Thunderbolt 3 hybrid port with a sturdier connector design and a huge leap in data speeds wasn't great enough, it will now also support DisplayPort 2.0 at 16K 60Hz; 80Gb/s.

when phones in 2020 still just use USB2.0

One day I will be able to play Monster Hunter Frontier in French/Italian/English on my PC, it's just a matter of time... 4 5 6 7 8 9 years later: It's finally coming!!!

I'm really hoping that at some point you'll be able to get a pcie 4.0 adaptor to NVME using the USB 4 cable... imagine being able to transfer your files to an external drive at approx 8GB/s, if they get faster NVME drives of course. But even at current top spec NVME drive speed would be nice.

That's 2x the bandwidth of TB3.

USB type C is such an awesome connector tbh, in terms of both reliability and capability.
