fps MINECRAFT FPS IS BEING THROTTLED

2015 500-1000 fps i7 4930k + 770gtx windforce

2017 300-500 fps 1080ti+1950x

2020 13-80/100 1080ti+1950x

 

i have been throttled and i don't know why

Minecraft is a CPU intensive game... a Threadripper is not a great CPU for minecraft, even more so in Creator mode. Enable Gaming mode to get the most out of it.

what is you cpu and GPU usage in game?

Did you turn on shaders in optifine? If so, that's one of the reasons why.

buffet single player bamboo jungle javaw has 6-11% it consistantly stays on 6% but a sudden spike to 33% then back to 6%

It's a 1950x a non gaming cpu. Minecraft has moved forward a ton since back in 2016 and become much more intensive to run. It has always been a cpu intensive game and now even moreso. Pretty much set it to gamemode and that's about as good as it will get.

 

My laptop is barely getting 60fps on the latest patch and has a 6700hq and 970m which was more than plenty for heavily modded and shadered mc years ago but now it's struggling to get 60fps when I turn on options in base minecraft with no extra shaders and such.

no shaders and the fps didn't change at all on an ocean biome it was 13-25 with fancy

since disabling ctm and changing shadow and lightning quality it goes to 25-80

look at the cores. how many are being loaded up on the CPU

1950x had  barely 1% less fps in gaming compared to I9 wasting 200-300 more watts of power

task manager affinity all are selected

affinity is only temporary

this is with 0.5x shadows on shader, 10% lighting, fast where ever fast is selectable in video settings

 

and i still don't see my previous 300-500 fps from years ago

 

i tried using 1.14 optifine to see if there was any difference

i got an extra 20fps from it but it's outdated

That's just not true at all. If you look at a 1950x vs a i9 9900k there is a pretty big difference. If you are talking about the i9 7980xe or something then yeah it's within 10% of the i9 which is not a good gaming cpu either.

minecraft because it is based on java is almost all single threaded.

no optifine, 1.15 default microsoft patch

where do i check that

 

in "open resource monitor" of task manager" cpu 4 node 1 is around 90% usage

while some others are doing ups and downs around 10-40% but staying around 15% something estimate

 

cpu 4 node 1 is stuck around 90% roughly while typing here with minecraft in background

 

some others jump to 100% when i open minecraft

cpu 4 node 1 is consistantly 90%

There you have it. Your 1 cpu core is being maxed out so pretty much other than trying to optimize your game you can't do anything else as your cpu is being maxed out.

Minecarft is a single core game so it uses one core for almost everything and once that is maxed out you are at your fps cap.

i was getting around 100 fps everything maxed out in settings while inbetween actual literal tens of thousands of vines everywhere with automatic farms and melons growing and redstone constantly ticking away with pistons everywhere, leaving the laggy area would be around 300 fps and then it could go to 500 at the bottom of the map

 

but now i can barely get 100 fps on fast, low settings in an open area same hardware

then change it to show logical processors.

that info alone likely means the chip is just being overwhelmed by the game.

i keep it in creator mode because i got 40-50+ tabs on chrome that need to load

chrome is not open right now only 4 tabs on opera are open

Again as I said. The game has changed. It moved forward and thus became incredibly more intensive to run. I gave you an example of my computer which ran the game really well 4 years ago now struggling to get 60fps in the newest update without all my textures and shaders enabled.

Run the game for 4-5 mins then alt tab and give us a new screenshot

i also tested game mode and there is no fps difference in minecraft when you look at my previous 100/300-500 i had years ago
