for editing 2700x makes more sense. for gaming 3600 is much better. What do you do more? edit or game? if game get 3600 is edit get 2700x

If editing videos is your primary use for the PC, the 2700X is better since it has two extra cores. The CPU is also quite good at gaming.

Although, neither of these CPUs is really the wrong choice, they're both quite decent at gaming AND editing.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

but the 2700x's single core performance is considerably lower and also doesnt support amd's version of hyper threading

whaa? it supports hyper threading as good as 3600. yes its single core speed is slower but it is still better for editing

The Ryzen 7 2700X is an 8 core 16 thread CPU, if it did not support SMT it would be an 8 core 8 thread CPU. The Ryzen 5 3600 is a 6 core 12 thread CPU.

The only AMD Ryzen CPUs that do not support SMT are the Ryzen 3 family (with the exceptions of the 3100 and 3300X) and the Ryzen 5 3500, and some other OEM only CPUs that come to mind.

its not at all strong over here , the used market is very unreliable , plus there are a few used 2700xs whoever bought ryzen 2nd is using it for atleast 5 years for sure

brand new 2700x

Depends on the pricing

And what are you planning on pairing it with ?

To put it simply both of them have similar ipc but the 2700x will out perform the 3600 because if the extra 2 hyper threaded cores (I'm talking about editing )

But the 3600 has that better imc if you require tasks that need memory and needs it bad so something other than editing but over all JUST for editing it's simple the 2700x

PC: Motherboard: ASUS B550M TUF-Plus, CPU: Ryzen 3 3100, CPU Cooler: Arctic Freezer 34, GPU: GIGABYTE WindForce GTX1650S, RAM: HyperX Fury RGB 2x8GB 3200 CL16, Case, CoolerMaster MB311L ARGB, Boot Drive: 250GB MX500, Game Drive: WD Blue 1TB 7200RPM HDD.

Peripherals: GK61 (Optical Gateron Red) with Mistel White/Orange keycaps, Logitech G102 (Purple), BitWit Ensemble Grey Deskpad.

Audio: Logitech G432, Moondrop Starfield, Mic: Razer Siren Mini (White).

Phone: Pixel 3a (Purple-ish).

Then the 2700x is perfect because for gaming it will be the same as the 3600

PC: Motherboard: ASUS B550M TUF-Plus, CPU: Ryzen 3 3100, CPU Cooler: Arctic Freezer 34, GPU: GIGABYTE WindForce GTX1650S, RAM: HyperX Fury RGB 2x8GB 3200 CL16, Case, CoolerMaster MB311L ARGB, Boot Drive: 250GB MX500, Game Drive: WD Blue 1TB 7200RPM HDD.

its strange how our economy works as compared to others like the US, some electronic prices took a nose dive here and some are same as before, this was mainly because productions didnt stop in our factories and imports also didnt stop but the demand fell drastically

Can you please share where you are buying 2700x from? Price in mdcomputers and other online store seems to be high enough. I am going to build a pc soon.

I'd look for benchmarks on the specific applications and games you will use. And also access in which category you can tolerate worse performance in.

Personally, a video taking 20% longer to render doesn't negatively impact me much. But having frame dips in games ruins the experience for me. So I'd personally get the 3600 unless I was exclusively doing video editing.
