5700xt not performing as expected

My 5700xt stutters in games like cs go, fortnite and gta with low gpu usage as well. Is this normal because of the drivers? Is there a fix?

Low gpu usage is weird. Make sure it's not accidental using your iGPU

I make Rainmeter things and other art :D

I have low GPU usage in csgo as well, mostly because csgo is hard locked to 400 fps in competitive game modes. I average 250-350fps on a core i7 8700K with about 40% GPU usage, csgo just doesn't push the GPU enough.

Well the it is just the ram

These stutters are caused because of bad 1% lows and because the 2700x not having the best chache latency or layout or ccx arrangements needs fast ram this 2400 is making you stutter

You can probably overclock the ram yourself without much trouble, go grab thaiphoon burner to check the memory IC of your ram

http://www.softnology.biz/

Then use Ryzen DRAM calculator to get a good balance of speed and timings, this should increase performance in games by a significant margin

https://www.techpowerup.com/download/ryzen-dram-calculator/

Alternatively, because your motherboard doesn't have a CMOS reset switch, which means you have to actually get a metal thing onto jumpers to clear CMOS and jacking your memory will require you to do this quite a lot....and given that this is an ASUS motherboard.

Just go into the Bios and do the automatic overclock.

It will ask some questions and then boost your CPU and RAM with known parameters.

Is it as good as doing it yourself?  No, is it easier? Yes.

Will it work for you? Well that depends on how far off of where you need to be you are...if you are just a little bit off, then this might stop your stutters.  If you are a long way off, then probably not.

But it is a cheap first easy step to take.

csgo is not a reference for stuttering, it took the devs 6 years to fix the stuttering everybody was complaining about. It would come and go from patch to patch, and it seemed random. The devs were shamed by pros on twitter, because they couldn't even play on tournament computers. Reddit made a fuss and a month later it finally got fixed.

Use other games as a reference, csgo is spaghetti code on top of more spaghetti code.
