Wireles headphone vs goXLR, what to get?

Caennanu

Good day friends!

Recently i have been upgrading my home work / stream setup.

I now have a nice new quadcast to replace my logitech mic in the headset, and i'm looking for new headphones.

I want these to be wireless to remove all the visible wire clutter, but i want to be able to connect them to the go xlr mini that is comming in the near future.

(i'm more of an enthusiast than a fulltime streamer, and i can use these things for work too, so its a win win)

So i been looking around for decent headphones that have a base station, this however seems to be an issue.

i have about 200euro (around 220USD) to spend. i don't mind having a little bass in my headphones.

My wishes / demands:

* Wireless headphone

* Over the ear headphones (i wear glasses so the headband shouldn't be too stiff)

* has to have a 3.5mm jack so i can connect it to the goxlr in the future, while staying wireless

preferences:

* i prefer not having to work with a seperate receiver (like a boltune)

* don't need any RGB or other features that really don't add to sound quality

* don't need a build in mic

What would you guys recommend?

Gamesystem: X3700, 32GB memory @3200mhz, GTX1080 Hybrid

Unraid system: Epyc 7352, 24/48, 96GB ECC buffered @2666mhz, 2x GT710, GTX1050Ti

I'd stick to wired and get something like ath-m50

as for xlr gear unless you need some of the go xlr minis functions

I'd get a MOTU M2 2x2 or an Audient EVO 4

Thanks for the suggestion on the xlr, but i'm really going for an xlr for its simplicity and it has everything i need.

Multiple sliders, compressor, xlr functionality should i ever decide to go  . . . xlr.

in that regard i'm not an audiophile that wants to have everything seperate. the xlr for me is an low treshold all in 1 sollution.

I wasn't saying you need those audio units but I'd recommend them over the GO XLR mini.

i'm aware. and i'm simply saying i've already made up my mind about it ;), simply so this doesn't turn into a pro / anti xlr thread. no hard feelings either way.

@GDRRiley is entirely correct, GoXLR is a gimmick, I'd use just about any real audio interface over it.
If you really need XLR input grab a Behringer UM2 and if you need a cheap XLR mic grab a stereoset of Behringer C2, it's what I use for Discord even though I have mics worth 50 times the price...
If you want to learn anything out standalone audio solutions, specifically XLR ones check the guide in my signature, it's got quite a lot of information that may be useful to you.

Hi Sloth,

I understand where you all are comming from. But my question is not about the XLR GO, its about having a headset / headphone that its compatible with the XLR GO. or in other words, is wireless and has a base station with a 3.5mm jack.

No, you just think you want one, it's an overpriced gimmick.

Yeah that's fair. I love the idea of it I suppose. I just love the idea of having all my controls, etc at my fingertips where I can physically adjust them to my needs, plus all the other gimmics. I just like the physical controls and options I suppose.

i have obviously come to the wrong place to ask for decent wireless headset recommendations. if one of the mods see this, you can lock this.

Wireless headsets I'm aware (outside of pro stage audio gear) of are all USB/bluetooth based, meaning they're using a digital signal that cannot be used as an analogue input to the GOxlr you seem intent on purchasing. Not that there would ever be a reason to try and use them together......

If you want an audio interface buy an audio interface, if you want a wireless headset get a wireless headset, don't try to mix them together.
