First PC Build and I need some Help with Parts.

Budget (including currency): $800-$1000

Country: USA

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Only Gaming and watching youtube

The parts that I am thinking about getting so far are,

CPU - AMD Ryzen 5 3600X Matisse 3.8GHz 6-Core AM4 Boxed Processor with Wraith Spire Cooler

Motherboard ASUS B450M-PLUS TUF Gaming AMD AM4 mATX Motherboard

GPU - MSI GeForce GTX 1660 Super Gaming X Overclocked Dual-Fan PCIe 3.0 Graphics Card

RAM - G.Skill Trident Z Neo Series RGB 32GB (2 x 16GB) DDR4-3600 PC4-28800 CL16 Dual Channel Memory Kit F4-3600C16D-32GTZNC

Power Supply - PowerSpec 650 Watt 80 Plus Bronze ATX Semi-Modular Power Supply

SSD - Inland Premium 512GB SSD 3D NAND M.2 2280 PCIe NVMe 3.0 x4 Internal Solid State Drive

Case - Corsair Crystal 280X RGB Tempered Glass mATX Mini-Tower Computer Case - White

I was just wondering if some one with experience could look this over and see if this would be good. Also I know the case is expensive, but its sick so...

Any help would be so appreciated. Thank you!

Hey there. Here's my thoughts:

RAM - G.Skill Trident Z Neo Series RGB 32GB (2 x 16GB) DDR4-3600

That's going to cost you a pretty penny, especially for an RGB RAM. If your system is dedicated for gaming (not streaming or video editing), I'd just go for an 8 GB or 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3000 or DDR4-3200 RAM. DDR4-3600 is... kind of overkill, I think, and expensive. Higher capacity or higher frequency RAM don't tend to improve your gaming experience by that much, I believe? I'd then invest the money saved up on RAM into getting a better graphics card (though the GTX 1660 Super is a fine graphics card), or an after-market CPU cooler, or a 1 - 2 TB extra storage for all my games.

No comments on the case, since you seem adamant on sticking with it. Although, I will say that the LIAN LI O11 Dynamic has a similar dual chamber layout, but is a considerably less expensive* option.

*Edit: I checked some prices on Newegg and Amazon and the differences are about $10-ish or so, depending on supplier and current discounts. Scratch what I said about expensive options. 😅

Ehhh... Depends on what games you're playing and what kinda performance you're expecting out of it. For that budget, probably a RTX 20 Series or RX 5000 Series? RTX 2060 Super if you can afford it. RTX 2060, RX 5700 XT, or RX 5600 XT are fine too.

ram speed actually does matter for Ryzen systems, but 3200 is probably enough yeah, and the RGB doesnt help the cost

Some one recommended the RTX 2060 KO. Would this be ok, or are the GPU's above better.

Thank you so much. Im new to the whole building world and its just so hard to choose a graphics card. I don't want to force it with you, but do you think you could recommend the best GPU is for around $300.

Hm. For under $300, I'd say the Sapphire Radeon RX 5600 XT ($289.99 on Newegg, 10% off with coupon code VGAPCJY232) is a fairly solid option. Do note, however, that some Radeon RX 5600 XTs may need VBIOS updates if you want the best performance out of your card.

Not sure what to recommend if you want to go the NVIDIA route. Also, I'm not that well-informed when it comes to graphics cards, I'd suggest asking other, more knowledgeable members of the community for graphics card recommendations. 😅

Radeon RX 5600 XTs

You know a lot more then me! I literally just watched a Linus video talking about the 5600 xt and the RTX 2060. He said he would go with the 5600 xt, but that was before the 2060 dropped to $299. I think I will go for the 2060 because of the Nividia support and it got a lot more frames on Cs. Thank you again.
