What used laptop to buy for college? up to $650

Hello,
I'll be going to college in a couple of months and I will need a laptop. I'm looking for used because they have better value, but I'm open to new as well.

I have some requirements that need to be met:

• 14-15.6 inches screen, at least 1600 × 900
• Good build quality (no cheap plastics), but not too heavy because I'll carry it in my backpack every day
• Decent battery life
• Decent keyboard and trackpad
• HDMI port
• 8GB of RAM
• 265GB SSD
• To be up to $650 (600 eur)

Other features that are not necessary, but would be nice to have:

• 1080p screen
• 4 core CPU
• Backlit keyboard

I've been looking at ThinkPads and other business offerings. I heard some bad things about quality of T480. Are these stories true? I'm open to any brand and any lineup.

Is it this one?
I haven't gaming laptop in mind but this seems like good value. It's little bit on the heavy side, and I'm not sure about battery life.
