From what I've seen here general consensus is that he's trustworthy though he overhypes some brands/products.

I'll do my best to lend a hand to anyone with audio questions, studio gear and value for money are my primary focus.

Opinions must have changed massively in the last year or two then. Search for "zeos" with an author tag of @SSL, @spwath or @Dackzy 's comments for a different opinion, three people who i would trust more than most who've appeared and disappeared over the years, and unfortunately have pretty much abandoned ship by the look of it.

I'm gonna have to agree with this one. But he doesn't really hype up a bad product luckily.

Given the hatred some here have for KZ they may disagree,
Though I personally enjoy their products (as it seems does Zeos) I can see why some think he overhypes them.

He has his strengths and weaknesses he's great reviewer for someone just getting into audio. He doesn't use a lot of fancy words and doesn't reference very specific numbers in a frequency response like many others. He does get a bit too hype sometimes but that's what kinda makes home entertaining. His build assesments are great and his desire to help budget audiophiles great stuff is good. His attention to build quality is also quite nice. And if you go through his videos he does a great job of simply explaining fundamentals like  what the dacs purpose is, what and amp's purpose is, and what is impedance , sensitivity as well things to watch out for and I like his attitude of the enjoyment of music should be what comes first.

I have personally been burn by some hype trains led by him and other reviewers and honestly it's less their fault than my own as I forget the fundental rule of everyone's ears are different.  Overall I like z. But I don't trust his ears to tell me to buy something I would like.

He's an excitable weirdo, just like the rest of us. He never could bring my piss to a boil, as opposed to other people on this forum. At best he's a source of information, and at worst he's just blabbering. I can't really knock that.

I can actually appreciate his methodology of just listening to things, rather than him stressing about measurements, graphs and other pointless things. There is something refreshing about someone actually having fun with his hobby.

That said, he seems to have fallen down a high-end rabbit hole lately. While I enjoy a review of a $500 DAC as much as the next guy, that's hardly a realistic purchase for most people. I understand that there's not a ton of things to say about regular, consumer-grade audio, but covering it every more often would be nice.

Yeah I did pretty much leave, SSL left a bit before me too.

I spend most time on an actual audio forum now.

Anyway, yeah zeos is ok, but I wouldent trust him very much. Can give some good information, but overall his ears/preferances may not align with yours.

It is always important to listen to a wide variety of sources, or learn about the sources preferances so you can adjust what they say.
