Lots of faulty Nvidia RTX 2080 Ti

There is a new (now pretty widespread as can be seen in the forums of nvidia: https://forums.geforce.com/default/board/227/) where rtx 2080 ti cards are getting bad (artifacts, blue screens) after a few days of use. People are sent new cards that have the same defect. Can we have at least a news on this? Maybe nvidia will make a statement if it gets more coverage?

I dont see enough posts after 2 mins of scrolling to call that "lots of faulty 2080Ti", but this is old news. Either they have bad GDDR6 that quickly started to cause artifacting (hence does not affect 16 series with GDDR5) or a bad BIOS flash leads to GPU cores locking to their base clocks and not boost higher. This is a thing at launch, seems to have gone away after a month though and its now as rare as it was before with older cards. Super series does not seem affected either

Keep in mind that a manufacturer's forums are not an accurate representation of a product's reliability. People are going to go there first to say if something is wrong, they dont go there to say they don't have any issues.

 

Same can be seen on every single community forum for a particular company.

I think that they had a bad batch of memeroy chips on the initial batch of card that was causing those issues...we don't hear that anymore so it has to be fixed.

I know at launch it was bad. My friend got a 2080ti and had a lot of issues with it. He sent it back got another one that did the same thing. He eventually got a new replacement and it’s been fine since
