RM is better, but the RMx would be even better.

Do you actually need 850W though?

Is 2019 RM850 better than 2013 TX850m?

Are you sure? That's my question.

I already know RMx is better.

The RM. Also, fyi it doesn't matter where the fan and capacitors are from, that doesn't affect their quality at all. The Corsair fan was probably made in China, as was the PSU itself.

Technically, almost all Corsair power supplies are entirely Chinese sourced... Chinese doesn't mean bad quality.

well... Flextronics is singapore, but that aside

CWT isTaiwanese, but has part of it's factories in China (RMx here)

Greatwall is Chinese (TXM here)

HEC is Chinese

Seasonic is Taiwanese, but does part of it's production via China

and that sums up about the whole current Corsair lineup

Having so-called "lower tier" caps is a nonissue at best, especially if given a relatively non-vital role, as is the case here.

Exactly. In fact, it's not just Corsair. Most PSUs are made in China from Chinese and sometimes Taiwanese parts. Apart from that, they're all made in Taiwan (except for a few PSUs like the Cooler Master MIJ).

Same goes for basically every other computer part. They're mostly made in China now. The rest are made in Taiwan.

Made in China =/= bad product

Instead of the superior Japanese Nichicon and Chemi Cons and employ Hong Hua rifle bearing fans instead of Corsair's more-powerful NR135L?

In 2019 update PSU version?

Corsair doing this for better quality or for money?

Dude, it's called QVL...

The fan would be a cost-cutting measure, yes, but there's still zero problems with the fan being used.

that Hong Hua fan is the same... it's only the frame and the controller that differ

and RM is meant to be just below RMx

That means RM is just below TXm too?

Thats my simply question.

RM is better electrically (specifically, it has better ripple), and follows the latest ATX spec version while TXm does not. Both are considered about the same in noise level.

similar, I'd say

both have advantages and disadvantes

TXM is a bit better build quality, is semi-modular and is a touch on the loud side with it's fan

RM is more silent, slightly worse build quality, does meet a newer ATX efficiency standard, but starts to make a whine-like sound when switching between powerstates (~90w) because of how the controller is set

TX-M is better, but louder.

RM is quieter.
