You just need to remember these comodity machines are built with parts made by the lowest bidder, so it probably won't be made to the same standards as off-the-shelf parts. So if it's not cheaper than going custom, it probably isn't worth it; especially in these times when people have more time than usual.

The usual problems a prebuild brings with it still exist even if it costs the same as building yourself.

- sub-par Coolers

- sub-par ram

- sub-par motherboard 

- meh case

The whole prebuild pc is dangerous. PSU is what it makes upgrading the GPU difficult and perhaps some motherboards have vendor-lock so upgrading GPU is not possible. Crappy 5400rpm HDD and horrible cooling solutions. Nope, never ever prebuilds.

Seeing as they use custom PSU, custom motherboard, etc. that is not compatible with any other off the shelf parts...

 

why on EARTH would you buy this? Especially since it is NOT cheaper.

 

My 'favorite' threads are the ones where people with a Dell, HP, or whatever PC try to figure out how on earth they can upgrade / repair their machine. Play the game "find the compatible part".
