Looking for a new video card.

Viperan

Hello all, I'm looking for a new video card but I'm not sure if my CPU will be a major bottleneck for what ever I get. I am currently running a i5 4690K with 16gb of ddr3 ram. I'm looking to run games like Apex legends, warzone and similar games at atleast high settings on 1080P and hopefully utilize my 144hz monitor as well. Any recommendations for a video card that would do that for around 400 USD or cheaper?  Or would I need a cpu/Mobo upgrade as well?

Thanks!

4690k with a decent OC will probably do okay in those games, i'd get a 5700 xt or a 2060 super if you care about NVENC

Thanks, 5700 xt is looking like a good choice. Thanks again for the help! :)

i would start saving towards an eventual upgrade to ryzen 4000 when it happens though. in a lot of newer games, 4/4 chip is going to hold you back. that's what i would do.

That's the plan, but right now I need something better then my GTX 770. Not much fun playing games at 40-50 fps. But yeah CPU upgrade will come in time. Thanks for the advice. :)

your processor and the 5700xt would bottleneck. if you can't afford to buy a new mobo+processor you can upgrade it to a Intel Core i7-4790K which would be able to reach much higher fps (if you can find a good deal)

I'm sure, but if it gets me close to 100fps on settings medium to high in Apex and warzone then I'm fine for now. Because right now I'm currently playing at 40-50 with low to medium settings mostly low.  Appreciate the advice mate, might keep an eye out for an i7. Tho CPU/Mobo will be purchased next year. :)

On my pc I can’t run apex or WARZONE locked at 144fps all the time at max settings. Here is a pic or what I get in these games at max settings 1080p

iirc apex isn't terribly multi-threaded from what google fu tells me, but i could be wrong. 770 is the limiting factor here
