Rx 5700XT + 4690K?

JohanSundin

Hi there

I hope GPU is the right section here. If not then im deeply sorry

My current system is running a 970 and a 4690k, both at stock clocks. This has been fine for 1080p @ 60fps but i have recently upgraded my monitor and i am now in the market for a upgrade. The point of upgrading would be to play at 1440p at closer to 144 fps. When upgrading i also consider that i want to be able to run mac os in addition to gaming. My eyes have landed on a RX 5700XT since i cant afford to upgrade my whole system.

Would the combo of a 4690k and a rx5700 xt be okay and not be destroyed by bottlenecks?

Thanks

When you say 4790k, is that i7 or i5?

Depends on what games you play but most modern open world games like assassin's Creed or ghost recon or red dead 2 or whatever...far cry etc. your cpu will have a very hard time with...so if you're into those you'll want a new cpu soon for sure.

Get the card yes but start saving money for a ryzen 3600 with a board and ram
