SpeedFan not showing fan speed controls (MSI GE40 laptop)

  • 14" 1920×1080 (IPS)
  • MS-1492 motherboard
  • Intel Core i7-4712MQ (4C8T, 37W) (2014)
  • 8 GB Kingston DDR3-1600 RAM
  • NVIDIA GeForce GTX 850M (2 GB, 40W) (2014)
  • Samsung SSD 840 EVO (2013)
  • Western Digital Black (SATA3, 7,200 RPM)

It may not be possible on this system but I thought I'd check with you guys.

In fact, SpeedFan doesn't work on my PC, either lol

Speedfan doesn't support modern motherboards. So pretty much nothing Ryzen and newer or Skylake and newer is not supported. There are couple alternatives, one paid, one free.

 

For laptops even those might not work as laptops don't usually allow fan control. Unless they have own software for it.
