I want a 1660 super. Can I trust ASUS? Gigabyte is out of stock.

MS-DOS

Because of coronavirus Gigabyte is taking ages to arrive in my country and im sick and bored of not being able to play any games because my current card is busted.

How do you rate the Asus ones? I've got these 3 options:

https://www.asus.com/Graphics-Cards/DUAL-GTX1660S-6G-EVO/

https://www.asus.com/Graphics-Cards/DUAL-GTX1660S-A6G-EVO/

https://www.asus.com/Graphics-Cards/TUF-3-GTX1660S-O6G-GAMING/

There's also this one:

https://www.msi.com/Graphics-card/GeForce-GTX-1660-SUPER-VENTUS-XS-OC/Gallery

And some other ones:

By Zotac and EVGA. There's the mini ITX versions too but what's the point, they are only like 20 bucks cheaper.

All of them go for the same price range so it's not a problem really. Im just going nuts trying to understand all those different versions which on paper seems like they perform the same so what's the point?

The rest of my build is a 3950x with Aorus Pro x570 and Corsair rm750x. I just want to do 1080p gaming, I don't care about raytracing. I will buy a better GPU in 3 years or so when I see a point. Right now this one does everything I need, I just need to decide which brand I can trust. My idea was Gigabyte because my Mobo is from them but like I said im tired, I just want to play some videogames immediately. Im stuck at home all day because of corona and im going nuts.

Can I design a fan curve with the Asus software? I would like a silent build during idle.

Which EVGA and Zotac? The Zotac Twin is actually pretty nice, EVGA less so though it is also a shorter card

Prices? Obv the Gaming X is the best performing, that's why price matters

You can make fan curves on all cards, only not on some AMD cards (in the past?) because their software broke this function. Some cards may have a fan speed limit which you cant drop below (e.g. I've heard the EVGA XC card having a 50% minimum limit, so you can only adjust from 50% to 100%), but you can bypass that with a BIOS flash (of a BIOS from a card that can use 0% fan speed). If you dont want to flash the BIOS (because you're not bored like me lol), get a card that is advertised to have 0rpm fan mode

Asus Dual GeForce® GTX 1660 SUPER EVO 6GB GDDR6 266,95€

This is it actually. Others have "we are sending in x days..." which I don't trust at all. Im only buying immediate shipping.  I can afford any of them.

How do you know what performs better in practice? I can't find many charts comparing different brands.

Sounds good

they all do that

Also whats the point of those longer 3 fan ones?

better cooling = better performance

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

the cooler design isn't the same for asus and MSI so you can't compare them so exactly

yes I know, but what i mean is that you can't tell exact performance just based on fans. Still, an Asus card with more fans will perform better than an Asus card with less fans

Then Dual Advanced if you're not so performance and noise sensitive, Gaming X if you are. The TUF3 seems to use exactly the same heatsink (check pictures, the TUF3's heatsink does not extend as long as the card does while the whole card is only 20mm longer than the Dual) with an extra fan, which is not exactly a recipe for drastic improvement.

Visual inspection, when benchmarks arent available. The 2 fan TUF for example, not gonna recommend that when it's using the pressed aluminum heatsink like the Intel stock coolers.

This is pretty settled, but it's like I tell people all the time: There are no good or bad brands in tech, only good or bad products. Often the company name on a product isn't even who made most of it.

Make sure to quote or tag me (@JoostinOnline) or I won't see your response!

I don't think anyone has given you these two things yet. you should see them before making your decision even with being sick of waiting.
