I don't know if anyone has noticed that this game uses an INSANE amount of bandwidth or not, but let me be the first to tell you that it does. I play video games all the time on my internet connection, just about every genre there is. I also play video games while my brother is playing Call of Duty in the other room. Usually, we have no problems. We can play games at the same time, and I can even skype chat with friends as well on my internet connection while my brother and I play our games online. However, when I launch Titanfall and push play on the main menu, my internet COMPLETELY turns off. Now, I do have pretty bad internet, and when we overload our router with a bunch of devices and we have a lot of things downloading and uploading at the same time, my internet usually does turns off and it's not uncommon, but usually only when we have a lot going on at the same time. However, trying to play Titanfall is almost like having several devices downloading off my router at once. I've tried to launch Titanfall when NOTHING else was on my router, and it still turned off my internet. It is literally impossible to play the Titanfall Beta at my house because it requires TOO MUCH bandwidth.

That being said, I have not gone without playing Titanfall. Today I took my computer over to my friends house (who has slightly better internet than me) and we were going to play the Titanfall beta together. When i got there he played a match while I was setting up my computer perfectly fine. After I got it set up, he invited me to his party and I joined. He tried to find a match for the both of us and in the process of loading the game the Internet shut off. And every time we tried to play together we got the same results. So, instead of playing with each other. We just took turns playing by ourselves. Worked just fine every time. Now, his internet can easily support the two of us and even a couple more on the same router playing other games like Battlefield and Call of Duty (just to name a couple). Also, I called him on skype while he was in a game, and it kicked him out of the match all together. I call him on skype while he's palying games all the time on a daily basis and it has never caused him to disconnect from a game. So this obviously means that all these other games we play use considerably less bandwidth compared to Titanfall. Titanfall uses too much bandwidth and it needs to be fixed in the final release or I will not be able to play this game when it comes out. I hope it does get fixed and this issue really needs to be brought to Respawn Entertainment and Electronic Arts (Someone help me bring it to their attention?). The game is truly a great game from what I've played and it really is a unique shooter and a lot of fun. i just hope the bandwidth issue gets resolved.

Anyone else having problems like this? Also, possibly anything I can do to fix this problem? and like I mentioned above, I can really use help bringing this to the attention of Respawn Entertainment and Electronic Arts. Thank you.

Without empirical evidence it's hard to say if your issue is being caused by Internet connection usage. Does your router have a bandwidth usage monitor? Maybe try playing Titanfall for an hour, then playing something else for an hour and then checking out usage?

I've noticed it's being a bandwidth hog, but not as bad as what he was having.

I have been in a Teamspeak channel , TitanFall and Netflix while running on one 25mbps connection and no problems going through the router. .

Honestly, I did play other games online to test out my theory after I posted this. I played Battlefield 3 for about half an hour and I played an entire dota 2 match that lasted about an hour (counting finding the game and the captains draft. I'm about to play another match, we are in the captains draft right now and I've been in a Skype call the whole time with my friends and I haven't had any problems since restating my router after it turned off trying to play Titanfall. My PC is running Ethernet, so wireless isn't a problem. Titanfall literally uses so much bandwidth it turns my internet off.

Just tried to launch the Titanfall beta again (after a long session of it being on and working fantastic) and my internet shut off. I know it's best not to jump to conclusions, but it happens every time I try to go online with Titanfall. Also, running two computers that are trying to play Titanfall at my friends house results in the same thing. I can play any other games(s) just fine on my internet, but the moment I tell Titanfall to go online my internet turns off every time. There is nothing else running on my computer or any other devices in the house right  that are using the modem, only Titanfall. This Beta has to be a bandwidth hog. Is there anything I can do with my modem setting that might help me out with this issue?

I router doesn't crash just because it reaches its bandwidth limit, it just doesn't service all the data needs very well. Its the game that should disconnect if it can't get the bandwidth not the router.

There is clearly a bug in the firmware for your router and its causing issues. I actually saw a problem with Shattered Horizon in Alpha and a Speedtouch router. That particular brand has a weird way of handling Network address translation with UDP (which technically has no concept of a connection so its hard to translate) and that caused the game to keep disconnecting. There is a chance that Titanfall is doing a similar thing, connecting on lots of UDP ports in odd ways that is causing your router to crash. It could also potentially be conflicting with itself or other games on Origin's service and that is causing the crashing.

Well, I just emailed Respwan Entertainment about my issue. I completely described all the problems the best I could, I'm also going to physically mail them the same letter because they are probably getting flooded with emails right now. I may post on their facebook and twitter about it too. I really feel like this must be done for them to know about this issue. It HAS to get fixed before the game comes out or I will not be able to play. I want to do everything I can to make sure it gets addressed that way when march 11th comes around I'll be playing it with no problems.

After closely monitoring NetLimiter whilst playing through a session of Attrition, it reached max 35kb/s in most hectic situations.

Most of the time it was using about 15-20. I would consider this a tad bit high for an 8v8 game, but it's not much anyway. Unless you have dial up, bandwidth shouldn't be a problem.

Well, I do have DSL internet (which is absolute garbage) Here is my Speed Test...

It's bad, yes I know. Usually the ping is a little better and my upload speed is worse. However, it Is still good enough to play ANY other game online.

I honestly don't know for sure about the Internet by it's self. It's bundled with our TV and Home Phone.

The worst part is that I can't even get any other internet. I live in a area where this is the absolute best Internet I can get. If I could get better, I would. :(
