No Signal after switching from AMD to NVIDIA

XXBREEXX
Go to solution Solved by ChaoticChaosx,

Uninstall AMD drivers. DDU wipe preferred. Install nvidia ones.

I'm sorry. I'm running out of ideas.

Can you get to bios with SSD unplugged?

GPU in a different slot?

The main thing to try is a different build like try and put it in a other PC with no video card drivers installed unless they are nvidia. To make sure the card works first.

Did you get display/ bios and windows with the amd card?

I dont even have display on the amd card anymore but how??

Oh wow. I'd say to see if you're local PC shop can test components. I'd hate to say the motherboard.

Can you try another display/monitor? Just to makes sure it's not the cable.

Maybe the PSU too.

What size do you have?

Are these all new parts?

EDIT: Finding the culprit!

If it is fairly certain that components are seated properly (to be absolutely certain; don't just look at the components, suggest removing them and then re-inserting them), then -

If the computer still doesn't boot, then try ONE memory module at a time.

If the computer boots and runs, then one of the modules may be faulty.

If the computer still doesn't boot, then time to test the PSU.

Ideally, try another known working PSU.

If the computer boots and runs, then the original PSU would seem to be faulty.

If the computer still doesn't boot, then the motherboard may be faulty.

you might of caused static shock when changing out the old GPU and trying the new one.

always remove the old drivers first, then shut down the computer before taking the old GPU out and installing the new one.

As you don't have the old GPU, and no onboard graphics it makes it harder but not impossible.

what PSU are you using? does it have enough juice to power the new GPU?

have you tried different ports and cables between the GPU and monitor?

when you did the swap did you power down your PC, then unplug the power cable, wear anti static protection etc?

do the fans spin on the GPU?

do you have a windows recovery CD? or USB.

all relevant info to help us figure this one out.

I have a Corsair VS550

I turned my PC off then unplugged my PC and hold the power button.

I tried different ports.

I didnt wear any anti static protection.

Its a ASUS STRIX GTX 1070 so fans spin at 50°C and its only spinning at start.

And yes i have a USB with a Windows recovery.

if you can't get windows to boot in safe mode with the windows recovery and it still don't work you could have a dead card, sometimes a GPU looks like its working ok if the fans are spinning and the logo lights up, but with no display, look into getting an RMA or was it used when you bought it?

Can you try a different PSU or other system with just placing your GPU to make sure its not dead?

At start they do spin, while idle or gaming they should. At idle (depending on control panel settings, like mine at maximum performance one spins once in a while) they shouldn't be.

EDIT:

I'd say try another power supply if you have access to one just to make sure. They can die slowly and seem okay.

Usually 90% of no signal is RAM. Since you can't even get into bios I really not so sure with that one now.

Can you post if you put a new SSD/HDD in?

When you try and boot you have been constantly pressing/mashing the "del" key or F8/F2. Which would pull up bios on that board right?

Also try reseating your RAM like switch slots with each other.

You did try unplugging from power and holding the power button down for roughly 60sec then plugging in and rebooting, right?

Just throwing everything possible at you. Trying to get you back to having fun though. I'd be near death without my PC. lol

Does the monitor get signal on another PC?
