Cheap Mechanical 10keyless keyboard for my 2Gamers1CPU build?`

Metallus97
Go to solution Solved by nox_,

Agree with @minibois suggestions, but also if you want something even cheaper but still decent, there's this : https://www.amazon.com/Redragon-K552-Mechanical-Keyboard-Equivalent/dp/B016MAK38U it comes in a few variants, with rgb, red lighting or even without any lighting. Widely available in Europe also.

Sooo I am in the last steps of finishing my build. Palyer 1 (me) will use my trusty Corsair K70 with cherry blues (yes I love them).

Now I need a decent but cheap as possible mechanical keyboard that is 10keyless (due to lack of desk-space and also because it will purely used for gaming by player 2).

Nice extras are: Good switches (I know probably not cherry for the price I am looking at), some kind of illumination. Doesn't have to be RGB.

Or would you guys not recommend going cheapo mech but going with a decent rubber dome? I don't know much about keyboards, I just know that I love my cherry blues. Type and feel of the switches doesn't matter much because my wife (player 2) likes my keyboard, but has no real preference when it comes to how the switches shall feel.

I am buying in the EU.

Coolermaster's CK330 and CK530 are pretty decent. Outemo and Gateron respectively.

RGB lighting to boot, decent construction on the board itself.

Gateron Blues feel similar to MX Blue to me, don't have enough experience with Outemo to judge that.

That seems nice... well do you have experience with it? How is the build quality?

I have this one

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B071HBFN2T/

And quite like it... it is very clicky though, if that is a concern. I'd buy it again though, can't fault it for it's operation.

350 seems nice but isn't available in my region. I think I have to decide between CK530 and the Redragon... do you guys think going with CM is worth it?

Redoragon also seems to be a blue knockoff... but dont know how god they are..

Ok that price I like. Verry clicky is GOOD (typing the on Cherry Blues). So how do they feel in comparison with the real deal? And how is overall ruggedness etc?

But sadly I cant find a 10keyless variant of this ;(. I cant have the 10keys because I need every bit of space on my desk. We already use it to game together with two setups

I tried it, borrowed for a few weeks from my friend, build quality is surprisingly good, very sturdy. It's not amazing or anything, but it's not worse compared to the Corsair of yours for sure. Keycaps are bad, but Corsair's are not any better, and you can buy cheap caps from aliexpress in the future. Also, don't worry about switches being clones, they are quite decent, I like them more than cherry mx blue.

Yeha thats right! Overall I am pretty confident in my K70s build quality. Sure there are better made ones but I dont type THAT much. Besides this forum :D.

But ok from that I take that the Dragon will be the thing to go for. I can get it about 1/4 cheaper than the CM

I like CM one also, it's very decent option, but for the price you can't go wrong with redragon.

You are correct, it's the same product, brand is the same too, only written in all caps, they do this sometimes.

I know you've decided on which one you're buying now (sorry, have been busy and didn't see the notification 'til now). But to answer some of your questions/comments. I haven't tried mx blues, but I personally quite like these switches on here, ruggedness of the keyb is pretty good, feels nice and solid, no wobbling and heavy enough that there's no movement when typing. They do a non-rgb model that I also own that is the same, but 10keyless  https://www.amazon.com/AUKEY-Mechanical-Keyboard-Anti-Ghosting-Resistant/dp/B06XKV8R9Z/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=10+keyless&qid=1583259133&sr=8-3
