So this idea came from talking about Intel systems with a friend and how not good Intel stock coolers are, and a part of me thought "well how good are AMD stock coolers, so the thought of rigging a stock ryzen cooler to an intel board (and vice versa for comparason) came to mind just to see how good AMD coolers are and how poor intel coolers are. Who do i know of that would be crazy enough to do that? LINUS so im giving you guys at ltt the idea, if you want to make it into a video be my guest, also if any fans want to try it on there own in case it doesnt get picked up by ltt then feel free to do so

Does Intel even include coolers with their higher tier CPU anymore? I think they just stopped doing it because they are so bad.

Without looking at the above video, my experiences are:

Intel coolers do run CPUs hot, but a large part of this is due to using paste under IHS. Do a LM and temps drop a LOT. I've got one on a 6600k stock and temps are fine under prime95 like workloads. BTW that's with an older copper core one, the newer ones seem to have moved to all aluminium, so may be a bit worse.

AMD coolers, the Prism looks nice but seems to cool worse than a Spire when I've used it. They're fine for older Ryzen CPUs but Zen 2 runs so close to the limit I don't consider any of these adequate.

Gaming system: R7 7800X3D, Asus ROG Strix B650E-F Gaming Wifi, Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 SE ARGB, Corsair Vengeance 2x 32GB 6000C30, MSI Ventus 3x OC RTX 5070 Ti, MSI MPG A850G, Fractal Design North, Samsung 990 Pro 2TB, Alienware AW3225QF (32" 240 Hz OLED)
Productivity system: i9-7980XE, Asus X299 TUF mark 2, Noctua D15, 64GB ram (mixed), RTX 4070 FE, NZXT E850, GameMax Abyss, Samsung 980 Pro 2TB, iiyama ProLite XU2793QSU-B6 (27" 1440p 100 Hz)
Gaming laptop: Lenovo Legion 5, 5800H, RTX 3070, Kingston DDR4 3200C22 2x16GB 2Rx8, Kingston Fury Renegade 1TB + Crucial P1 1TB SSD, 165 Hz IPS 1080p G-Sync Compatible

In my experience, the Stealth is only barely better than the non copper intel cooler. The Spire is adequate for most R5 models but it can't really cool the 3000 series R7/9. The Prism is fine unless you are pushing a 3950X to do heavy work. The 3700X/3900X are fine on a Prism Albert a bit louder for the 3900X

Dont think the stealth cooler has changed, the wraith has tho. Cant check to see if they tested both.

They're all Wraith coolers. I think the only one that has changed is the Spire to a shorter heatsink with a higher rpm fan for similar performance but slightly higher noise.

The 3xxx series' Spire is also all aluminum, instead of the copper vapor chamber on earlier models.

Hardware Unboxed did a video. So that's where the fan increase came from to maintain temps.
