Since its active Ill ask so I don't have to read 4 pages - is this a CLEAN/FRESH install of Windows 10 or a migrated install from your B450 variant of gaming machine.  If so, that's your issue (I.E. windows 10 has some very cool generic drivers but that doesn't mean you can swap OS to another system and it work optimally...it will work just not optimally).  

 

I read on the first page that you got a key, but where did you get the ISO to do a fresh install?

The 2700X has gone down in price, so if you do not have to put in too much the 3700x would be abetter future proof option..., but you can also look at the non "x" 3000 series.. as a replacement... Cost will be your guiding factor...

Keep the RAM you have, and try increasing the speed as you think fit, IMO, stability should be the main factor doing that...If the system is not stable, RAM speed will not matter...

Hi there! It is a fresh install, I re-installed windows last night after downloading the media creation tool from https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/software-download/windows10 onto my USB, unless I'm missing smth which could be possible Idk if theres a way to like do a cleaner install of windows :/

if I were to go for the 3700x then I'd have to put about £110 towards that new CPU which isnt too bad but isnt too good either and as for the Non X version I cant seem to find a Ryzen 7 3700 or 3000 so if you could link me if possible that would be great :)

Or do you mean the ryzen 5 3rd gens? cause a ryzen 5 3600 is about 180, has two less cores, 4 less threads but better performance but whenever I select the cpu in pcpartpicker with my system to see if its compatible, it tells me this warning which says "Some AMD X470 chipset motherboards may need a BIOS update prior to using Matisse CPUs. Upgrading the BIOS may require a different CPU that is supported by older BIOS revisions." and idk if this is bad or not

saw some of the error logs, did you disable fast boot in bios because that's what some of those errors were which happens at start not while system is running

kernal power is a concern though and rma is a return so since you just bought it returning it for a replacement at either no cost or just cost of shipping is worth while to eliminate cpu as the problem, might also double check gpu-z to make sure you didn't get a scam gpu

 

though I didn't see if you tested in a live drive situation? run ubuntu, install steam, play csgo in linux, does it still stutter in linux live disk?

Whereever I look it recognises my gpu as a RTX 2070 and I bought my gpu from Overclockers UK which is a legitimate business so I'd be shocked if they did scam me :/ I haven't disabled fast boot, do you suggest doing so? and yeah I'm going to send back my cpu and try a ryzen 5 3600x inhopes it'll work how its supposed to

the only difference fastboot makes is what gets initialized before it continues booting, eg turning on every single connected hard drive, usb controller, etc or if it just tries to turn on essentials and load windows before it has everything up like keyboard and mouse or random peripherals and extra drives, but this way we can differentiate erroneous error logs from legitimate ones

 

if your new cpu does same thing hit us up I guess

Thank you so much, to all of you for spending so many days attempting to help me find my problem, it really does mean a lot even if I can't fix this shit. I'll be sure to message once I send my cpu back and get a new one lets just hope that a new cpu helps a lot :) when playing minecraft today, I tried a mod pack and my cpu went to 60 percent utilization and was getting 50 and lower frames... was really bad so that makes me think the only thing keeping my pc stable is my gpu because whenever it uses my cpu it tanks so hard... and I was wondering why whenever my PC boots up I always hear all the connecting noises... thats becasue of fast boot? like when I log in or even before I type my passcode in I hear all noises like things connecting so I assume thats my peripherals ect?

noises? not good... the most you should hear is your fans and a single beep from a mobo speaker, and MAYBE your hdd spin up, anything beyond that is no bueno

and fast boot basically just looks for what it needs to start

Fast boot = you're starting an engine on wheels and the car is being built as you get out of the driveway

nonono not like bas noises like uno how when you connect a usb or a mouse and it does the connect noise, i meant that... sorry. Whenever I start my pc up, its so fast that it starts before all my stuff has connected like mouse and keyboard

unusual for it to be adding usb after login like that but nothing to be worried about

I honestly have zero clue what's going on with your system if I don't get to physically troubleshoot it in person, it's probably best to send it to a PC technician to take a look at it? (try to avoid amateurs)

Update time lads, been a long time as I've had to wait for my refund ect but I ended up going with the Ryzen 7 3700x for my build. It does seem really smooth but on Fortnite I am still getting some FPS issues sadly :/ I've tried psyhically everything and I don't know what else to try so I guess I'mma just stick with this setup and hope it fixes itself in the future :D just wanted to say thank you to everyone but mainly you three for all the suggestions and help you've given, means a lot :)

What kind of fps issues are you getting in Fortnite? Is it stuttering?

Yeah the occasional fps stutter here and there or when the fps drops like 10 or so I can feel it drop ect idk, the same stuff happens in CSGO if you watched the video at the start of the post... just sucks cause I built a powerful pc and it just wont stay stable... like I know fps drop is normal but i shouldnt be able to feel it, I watch videos of people with the same setup, they get drops but i dont see any hiccups but when its my pc i do...

? Well, where do you have your games and operating system installed? On your SSD or HDD? I see you have an SSD in your spec list, but 120 gbs is really chicken feed for games these days that can exceed over 80gbs.

My ssd is purely for my OS and small files, my games are stored on my HDD and I will eventaully be getting another HDD or 2.5" SSD

I highly advise you get another SSD with at least 500GB, 1TB being preferable for the amount of space these games eat up. If you call up any computer technician, they will tell you that you have to have both your O.S and games installed on your SSD for it to make any difference since its dependent upon how fast it can read and write data to and fro your system memory. Speaking of memory, how much ram do you have? Is it 8gbs or 16 gbs?

So do you mean get another M.2? or 2.5" SSD? and I have 16gbs

When it comes to over all read and write speed, the M.2 SSD's are faster than 2.5 SSD's, but are only slightly faster according to benchmarks, margin of error at best. They are also easier to setup since they connect directly into the motherboard. I'm doing just fine with my 2.5 inch SSD, it solved the problem I had with the stuttering and long load times, but its really up to you as to which one you should get. As long as its a good SSD, it will be an improvement over your HDD regardless. For gaming, there is a reason why its recommended you have at least 16 gbs of ram in most games, especially the most demanding ones. They call 8gbs the minimum because its chicken feed. It really shouldn't even be considered the minimum required to begin with, but that's just me.

Okay thanks a lot man, I'll look into 2.5" ssd's and see what I can find :) thanks a ton for ur input I'll probably end up getting one just to test it out :) do you have any recommendations of 1tb 2.5's?
