So.... Where do you live?

If you want recommendations for a service, we kinda need to know where you're located so that others in that area may give you some insight on that.

I know nothing about those dishes but my neighbor wanted to watch the news on her old tv in her bedroom.

I decided for xmas last year id grab her one. Walmart/best buy had a few options so i went with a model that was in the middle of the spectrum. Figured if it wasnt good enough id return it for a higher end model.

Thats what i would do. Trial and error. Some people are against the whole returning a product thing but i use that method all the time with no issues. Esp at places like walmart/best buy.

Satellite TV rarely has the local channels, unless you happen to live in one of the major city centres. For example in Canada, most Satellite has the Toronto local stations, but doesn't have regional locals.

Cable TV typically provides a much better local TV selection (especially if local news is what you are after).

No on dead zone, but Orby TV does that have ABC/CBS/NBC/FOX? we record things on the major networks.

An OTA antenna should work. If you want to record live TV there are a metric shit ton of options. Plex, TiVo or any number of DVR options.

Orby has a OVA attached to the dish & it appears on the guide, so that DVR can prob. get it. Sadly I put in my zip & only 2 come in.

Never heard of Orbi and Satellite tend to suck in bad weather.  So does OTA for that matter. They key with OTA tv is it’s a one time charge. Other services are recurring. At least until the new tuner standard gets released.
