Hello guys! Im planning to buy an ebike this year. I want it to be a town and mountain bike at once. What can i get for around 1500 euros (around 1800 dollars)?

Specifications: 

MOBO: AsRock B450 PRO4

PSU: some kind of Corsair 80+ bronze

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600x

GPU Radeon RX590

RAM 16 GB G.skill Ripjaws 3200mhz

Fans: Xilince and Aerocool

For around that price, you'd be looking at more of a hybrid bike, E-MTB's get good around the 3k-4k point.

 

Do you really need an E-bike? You'd be surprised how easy it is to pedal a nice bike around all day.

(Having a totally seperate DAC for each channel is game changing for sound quality)

Yeah. The bad thing about my town it is pretty windy. Cuz it is next to the sea. I love riding normal bikes only in no wind. Or if the winds help me

Yeah, wind is an absolute killer on a bike.

 

I would take a look at some hybrid bikes, then get some cyclocross tyres to fit to it, will give you some more grip, but won't add too much rolling resistance.

My wife has a muscle condition and getting her an electric bike was liberating. It means she can commute to work by herself now without getting the bus or walking for longer than she is comfortable with.

 

Although very heavy (its a cheap one), she just about manages, I have been impressed with it. I would say its a great car replacement for those who just want it for commutes, shopping or the school run (Winther Kangaroo electric is 3k or just get a trailer like we did). Cycling isn’t all about getting fit and these bikes do a huge amount towards getting people out their cars.

I agree, I love the fact that E-Bikes enable so many more people to ride, but the price of them will most likely stay high for years yet as the technology in them is still basically brand new to the cycling industry.

Yeah. While my school is like 700m away, usually on the way home it is windy and i go on like 10-15 kmh, but when i go to school, its around 25-30kmh

Do we really need PCs costing over a grand when a Raspberry Pi costs like $35?

 

I have an ebike and it's fun. Road it more in a month than my standard pedal bike in a year.

What about a recumberant bike?  They’re weird looking but they’re all about low air resistance.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

If there are any decathlons around you, check it out. They have a hardtail E-MTB, the E-ST500, at 1200 euros. Though if you want to bring it to the trails, I'll recommend you get one with a mid drive motor, the E-ST900, which is 2000 euros.

I built my eBike that can hit 60mph and has a range of 19-21 miles for around $800 I think. This includes a motorcyle helmet and charger. They are very easy to build and the kits are cheap too. The biggest factor is deciding what size battery you want. I used a Specialized Hardrock for my frame due to the quality, disc brakes, and the front suspension fork. But now the bomber style frames are so cheap I would opt for that because of the rear suspension swing arm. The bike now weighs around 68lbs so slapping the rear with all that weight is cringey.

€1500 might be bit too low price point if you want actually good stuff. I have been looking at options, and the better ones are something like €2500 here. The other option would be to buy kit and just install it. Those are cheaper, the front installed one was €400, the chainring installed one was €700. I was thinking about latter, but my pedals are stuck and can't be opened enough for installing.

 

So now I'm in point where I wait for better days. My school trip is 5.5km per direction. My summerjob trip was 7.5km. Both easy and nice to go with few annoyinly steep hills. But, yeah, wind is the real killer.

I have an ebike and it's fun. Road it more in a month than my standard pedal bike in a year.

E-Bikes are fun as hell I'll openly admit that. It's just at this price point a standard bike will be 20x better than an E-Bike.

Mini DSP SHD Studio -> 2x Mola Mola Tambaqui DAC's (fed by AES/EBU, one feeds the left sub and main, the other feeds the right side) -> 2x Neumann KH420 + 2x Neumann KH870

 

(Having a totally seperate DAC for each channel is game changing for sound quality)
