Is something wrong with my PC?

MMonarch

So I have a Ryzen 7 1700x and a 1660, 16 GB DDR4 2400 ram, and I'm getting really unexpected frame rates. In CS:GO on all low settings i'm getting 100 - 150 fps, and in fortnite all low, max res (1080p) I get 90 - 150 fps. In overwatch I can barely reach 144 fps all low. what could be wrong if something is wrong with my computer?

It's 1st gen Ryzen and memory frequency is rather low, this is to be expected.

The Ryzen 1700X is not good for DDR4 ram considering its old, but thats pretty normal considering that you have a 1st gen ryzen

Actually first gen ryzen memory frequency only impacts performance until certain gpu power...   hi is using a 1660, he is fine...
what are your full specs and drivers?
i think u have other issue...

No he's not, notice he's running far less GPU intensive games at low settings.

What would be ideal, I would recommend maybe switching to an SSD , or maybe a M.2 NVMe slot, I personally have the Ryzen 2700X and I am doing fine in FPS wise in Dust II , Mirage and Overpass surpassing over 200+ FPS the whole time.

Your PC is also a good combo for a CPU and GPU, but I would recommend is try to get an all Ryzen system. AKA switch your GPU to an Radeon RX 580 , an amazing card for modern 1080p gaming.

Wrong. The 1660 he has is better than the RX 580. No point in changing that out. I own 3 different RX 480 and 580 GPUs. He's fine with the 1660.  There is no point to what you said about an all Ryzen system.

The GTX 1660 is a more powerful card than an RX580...

Not even sure how it has gone wrong since even the 1060 is competitive against the RX 580 and not worth the upgrade. You do have fast memory though don't you?

Could it be that I only have a 430 watt power supply?

I tried putting all the settings to high in CS, and I'm getting 85 fps. Considering i have a 144hz monitor this really isn't fun
