I have a fairly decent build but my games aren’t running smoothly.

Jaggor97

So I have been running games with v sync locked on but hitting constant 60fps and my game freezes every so often/ it’s not running smoothly.

my system specs are i5 9600k (stock MHz)

8gb ddr4 ram (2 channel) 3200mhz

MSI MPG Z390 gaming pro mobo

Corsair RM850x psu

MSI GTX 1060 6gb

win 10 x64

All my games are on SSD’s as well as my OS.

I’ve done as much cleaning of pc as I can but the games still seem to run bad.

i would recommend upgrading the ram to 16gb if you can. you also shouldent need to use vsync on this system  also how are your temps?

I would suspect ram also. Run msi afterburner / rivatuner overlay while gaming and you'll know for sure.

that should tell you let me know what you find out :)

The new modern warfare and battlefield 5

Quickly looking at 9600K in those two games..

You might be CPU core/thread limited.

Even with high clocks, the games want more.

Numerous times in videos on the CPU usage with Midrange GPUs the CPU usages were spiking into the 90%s ranges, from a typical 60-75% AVG CPU usage (these two games)

It's likely your stutters are caused by a combination of CPU at High usage and dropped performance inducing stuttering from Vsync, the CPU/Game Relationship or both,.. stemming from the above.

Sounds crazy but it is true you'll need more than 6cores6threads for 2019-2020 AAA titles if they are wellThreaded/optimized for 8cores+

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz
