Fake GPU or not ?

Biomecanoid

Hello,

I am on a tight budget making a gaming pc and i am looking for a cheap GPU

Does this card look fake to you ? i found it for 115$ the seller has 97% positive feedback BUT he does not accept returns.

The card is supposed to be a 1060 3GB which new is for about double the price.

Browsing the other items the seller is offering i saw he is selling mostly mining stuff so this card could have been used for mining even if he has he used it in his gaming PC.

The card looks like a genuine Palit from what i can tell. What do you think ? good buy on not ?

Thanks

Hello,

Are you in the US? because that isn't a good deal, the 3GB 1060 never should have existed IMO.

get an 8GB RX 470/480/570/580/maybe a 590 if it's like $130-140

Just go through some ebay listings, it's not in production anymore, and it was never really worth buying in the first place.

$80-$90 and up, (depends on model) if the seller does not except returns, it is not worth half of the 115 they are asking.

Because the RX 590 is relatively new

If you sort RX 470 models with price low to high and buy it now, what costs do you see?

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

You can snag 8GB 580's often enough for at or under $120 USD, but since you didn't tell us where you're located we can't help you much. You seem pretty set on that 1060 3GB so if it's really what you want you should get it and be happy.

I am in Europe. I am not an Nvidia fan boy. Just want the best cost effective solution but the truth is that i had only positive experience with Nvidia.  I usually prefer intel CPUs and Nvidia GPU

I searched for 970s and 980s before and they are vastly overpriced same even more expensive than a 1060

No, it's completely legitimate. That being said, $115 is relatively high for a 3GB 1060 when a GTX 970 and an RX 470/480 goes for less money. Pretty sure 6GB 1060s aren't any higher than 3GB models on eBay, anyways.

Check out my guide on how to scan cover art here!

Well what country are you in? Even those prices seem insane.

the RX 4xx series also has more features, it even got radeon image sharpening in DX12 games to cheat out more fps.

What website is that? Not every site has the best prices, often times Amazon, Newegg, and eBay all have wildly different prices and for older hardware the prices often GO UP for no reason other than dwindling supply and pricing algorithms.

Are you sure the power supply in those OEM systems will even handle a good graphics card?

Yes regarding PSU i am OK:  the xw8400 has a 800 watt PSU, the Z400 has a 475watt PSU BUT i can change that to a 700 watt one that i have laying around IF needed.
