I think 1000 series cards start to throttle at 84c. Thats how my old GTX1080 behaved atleast.

Main system: Ryzen 7 7800X3D / Asus TUF Gaming B650-Plus / G.Skill Trident Z5 NEO 32GB 6000Mhz / Zotac RTX 5090 SOLID OC/ x2 WD_BLACK NS770 2TBs/ Corsair HX1000i/ NZXT H5 Flow

94 degrees C is the absolutely max for the GTX 1080 (non Ti)

That is asbolutely max though and not something you want to really get. Usually I set up my fan curves so it goes to 100% fan speed at 90+ degrees, but usually somewhat high at 80+ too.

Just depends on how much noise each fan speed would make.

But that is max temp, you of course have GPU Boost 2.0 too, that will have a most effective point. Just gotta figure out what that sweetspot is for you.

Boost steps lower around 40c. But your bios may be different than most boards.

Same could be said for the actual thermal throttle. Pulling the bios and viewing it will tell you.
