Did you tried checking cpu-z ?? Maybe task manager is reporting it wrongly

so you mean you had it changed, you went through an awkward boot phase and suddenly your back at 2133..like your motherboard rejected your settings?

It used to do that but i updated the bios and it does not anymore. I change the xpm profile and when i boot in windows it shows 2133mhz but if i go back to bios it shows that the xmp profile with 4000mhz is selected.

Oke.. that is weird, sounds a bit like the problem i had with a bios update going back and forth through 2 different bios versions, according to the system software, this changed when i decided on flashing the bios through the boot menu instead of using the windows program. After upgrading to the latest bios windows won't recognize speed and memory size anymore in task manager, you have that whole right row which just disapeared but appears again after setting the memory speed back too 2133.

Other programs do recognize the higher speeds.
Aorus seems to be renowned for these types of little errors according to many, at least i read dozens of posts about aorus hardware and its relationship with the specifically designed software

In the old bios it did not show mhz just gb but after the bios update it shows 2122.

So if i understand right you say that the ram does run at 4000mhz just that iy does not show it?

3... thousand in fact…. I have the x470 version and stayed almost within the line of the 2933 as highest speed measure offered. Is 3200 not the max speed supported by the 3000 line? A lot of talk about 3600 mhz too but 4k? might be a tad to much?

again i'm not saying it is the same problem but who knows? XMP can be pretty weird sometimes and for some considered pretty worthless

what is the max memory frequency you can reach if you manual try the speeds from 3200 and up without adding more voltage etc

I don't have any experience w oc and it is currently 2 am ill try to find a tutorial on youtube tomorrow.

The motherboard is supost to be able to run up to 4000mhz so that is why i chose it i just assumed it wont be able to take advantage of it as i have seen 3200mhz compared to 4000mhz on youtube and there is still a difference.

Is your bios anything like this screen?

Disable extreme memory profile by choosing off

set system multiplier to 3600
all other stuff auto
and voila

save and exit and looks what happens, if this checks out oke try 4000 ( you can increase or dcrease the value with + or - )
save and exit again ( Ofcourse don't forget to run windows and check your hz from there ), set the memory back to 2133 and enable profile 1 again if 4000 checked out oke too
and boot

Pretty similar and ill make sure to try tomorrow. Even of i get it to only 3200 i am happy thank you.

@RetroGenerali changed it straight to 3600 and it booted fine but then i changed it to 4000 and it turned on and off a few times and then booted back with 2133.

I also found this on the internet, shud i change the voltage to 1.35?
