New CPU Upgrade leading to PC not starting

Hey, ive installed a ryzen 2700x as an upgrade from my 1500x on a B350 tomahawk motherboard and im failing to even have the motherboard start up properly. The most i get are the motherboards lights glow for a split second before fading again. Ive replugged everything, resat the cpu 3 times now, cleared the CMOS and im just stuck for answers. Ive seen the answer of updating Bios floating around but I no longer have my old processor to do that with, and I was already at a newer supported BIOS version than stock so it shouldnt be a problem.

Any ideas or am I likely stuck with a faulty CPU?

Should have updated bios to the latest version before replacing cpu. Try to take it to a pc shop, maybe they can upgade bios for you

Unless it's physically damaged, it's near impossible you got a faulty cpu.

This is bios related, you should update the bios before upgrading.

No, you only need the one with the second gen update.

So the september update should be okay.

Now do a bare minimum setup (CPU + 1 memory stick + gpu).

Check the diagnostic led or beep codes to find the error.

I cant get the motherboard to power for longer than half a second so I cant get it to output any diagnostic codes :(
