For gaming, which cpu should I pair with a RX 5700?

I don't know if it's off topic but I was making a build for a friend (Ryzen 5 3600 with RX 5700), then I saw that this build will apparently bottleneck because the GPU is too weak... Since price isn't an issue, should I pair it with a R5 2600, R7 2700(X?), or stick with the R5 3600?

Stick with the 3600. It's a great CPU to pair with an RX 5700.

3600 is fine. Bottleneck is only a concern when it gets extreme

No, but you will always have a bottleneck somehow.

There is a balance, it will never be perfect, but there is one.

The general idea is that you get whatever GPU you can afford, and match it with a CPU that can feed it enough data so it can be fully utilized.

So the CPU is always "too" powerful for the GPU in most cases.

depends on the refresh rate, for 144hz i'd stick with the 3600, if it's something lower like 60, 100, or 120, i'd go with a cheaper board and grab a 2700x, i've seen them as low as 150usd.

Is it worth to take a 3600 to futureproof? My friend is a complete newbie to PC building, I think the best for him is a PC that'll last long...

the choice between 3600 and 2700x is...weird, some games will want 8 cores, but the difference isn't huge, 3600 is faster on most games, but probably won't make a difference unless you are playing on 144hz, i personally would prefer the 2700x, but that's probably a minority opinion.
