X470i or B450i or X570i

That's pretty much it. Just asking. I wanna use an R5 3600 in an ITX system and while B450 ITX from MSI is a solid deal, it doesn't have a Type-C port. Kills it. Since I need that for my phone. And so I bump up to an ASUS X470 ITX. It's like 1 USD cheaper (converted from INR) than an ASRock X570 ITX. From where I'm shipping it.

It's still ITX with an RTX 2060 Super and the additional bandwidth in a PCIe Gen4 ×16 slot is unnecessary, seeing how the top cards can't use a Gen 3 ×16 slot to its max capacity and mine isn't even a top tier card. And I'm using a Noctua NH-L9i. I don't even need overclocking.

But I mean, if I am upgrading to an X470i, will it hurt to choose an X570i for a dollar more ?

Edit : Just saw them again, the X470i is actually a dollar MORE than the X570i. Huh. Weird pricing. It's Newegg international.

I mean, if you found the X570 board for similar pricing, you might as well go with it, as it will save you from the hassle of having to flash the BIOS in order to be able to use the 3600, and might give you more options to upgrade in the future when Ryzen 4000 comes out (assuming it will still be on AM4).

Just use the USB Type A to Type C cable then? Most phones don't have TB3 speed through their Type C port in the first place, and even if they do USB 3.2 is already plenty fast and the X470-I doesn't support TB3, only the Asrock X570 ITX board does.

Oh yea I know. But Type C still has better speeds than a Type A right? I'm talking about the OnePlus 7T.

Well I surely hope they have AM4 as far as we can see then. And yea, you are right. I'll have Thunderbolt 3, might come handy some day!

no it doesn't, if they are on the same gen then the speeds are the same, only the connector is different

OnePlus 7T.

Only has USB 3.1 support, and from what can see it's actually just Gen 1 speed which is rebranded USB 3.0.

The oneplus 7T only uses USB 2.0 for bandwidth anyways. Most phones do except for some mainstream flagships, because even though the type C connector is real nice, the traces required for 3.0 and up bandwidth is more expensive and kinda pointless.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

But it still is at the same price point, so why not ?

I dont think the B450 board is only that little bit cheaper but I definitely recommend the Asrock X570 board more than the Asus X470 one

Oh no. The B450 is a good good deal cheaper. But just feels good having a premium motherboard. :P

if I have to increase cost some where else, I can always cut down on the motherboard and save a whole lot of money.
