Ryzen 3600 hits 97c at 4.0@1.325V

So. Noticed that my ryzen 3600 at stock can't boost more than 3.8ghz. Tried to set it at 4.2, like in most tutorials, and it crashed instantly. So, tried step by step. And at 4.0ghz temperatures was at 96-98C after a couple of minutes of benchmark. i even saw a 99C for a second. Stock cooler. Am i doing something wrong, or is it defective cpu?

The stock cooler isn't good enough for overclocking, it even struggles to keep up at stock settings. Get a better cooler for higher clock rates.

My 3900x with a stock cooler, on stock settings regularly hits 94-96c under full load, unfortunately AMD says that 95c is fine, even though all my inner tech fibers are saying its not.

Specs v-v

also fine! Was going to recommend Noctua (best coolers on the market... but wehen a Scythe is already that expensive :O)

Cheaper+less perf but should be fine: Cryorig H7

What country? That one is basically the same thing I think, just make sure it fits the AM4 socket

Actually it does. Ryzen 3000 automatically adjusts clocks with temperature like GPUs do. If you can keep the 3600 under 75 or 70°C you'd get closer to 4.1 or 4.2 Ghz than with your current 90°C

u could try leaving the clocks on auto, and only thing you do is the negative offset in the bios, then try ryzen master if that doesnt work.

You want the biggest cooler you can find, for the lowest price, and that will fit inside your case.

A dual tower cooler is going to run better than a single tower one at the same size, and it has no points of failure that a 240mm AIO would have.

The Neptwin is even cheaper, but you have to contact them for an AM4 bracket I think.

You basically want a Noctua air cooler or 240mm water cooling or more.
