Random Page Button

I was thinking of having a "Random Page" button, like on fandom wikias

mainly for people like me that have no idea what to do

It would need to give threads with certain qualities, if it's threads you want. Like those with under 5 posts, not marked solved etc. Or if it's random LMG video button...

If you mean random page of a forum listing, that would be a bad idea because it would encourage people to necro old topics.

If you mean random page of a topic, I'm not sure why that would be useful?

You could make Activity Stream for that.

Top of the page, 'My Activity Stream' > On the bottom 'Create New Stream" and do something like this:

Although that just gives a list of posts (yeah, not topics, posts) you have not read.. Not as neat as the random page feature of say Wikipedia.

Although if it actually gave only topics, that would be neat too.

I think clicking on "Unread Content" is probably the greatest random page you could ask for. It's just a whole list of most recent random content.

An unread topic? I would like to do more along those sorts of lines, but actually finding random unread content is not super easy because of the way that unread markers are tracked at the moment. I would like to have a more expanded recent topics type thing, but it's not super high on my roadmap at the moment.
