What games you recon it could run.. My friend isn't expecting to run anything at 4k etc just games like spin tires etc

So my friend want me to build him a pc for about £600 just double checking that this is a decent build. 1964137591_Screenshot_20190907-132902_AmazonShopping.thumb.jpg.ef966d849a020c7e9f10b66daaf83e89.jpg

Power supply is a piece of poo. Get something like a Be Quiet System Power 9 instead.

Why are you getting an APU and dGPU?

Don't waste money on gaming themed peripherals. Get like the cheapest Logitech wired keyboard and mouse set.

I honestly haven't looked at DDR4 RAM prices in yonks, and I am not that familiar with ₤, but that did seem a little off to me

Last time I looked at DDR4, it was early last year. I bought 16GB of 2400MHz stuff off Gumtree used for $150AU. That was a steal, but DDR4 prices were through the roof then.

I really haven't been that active in this forum recently...

He's now saying he wants to pay £800 not £600 is there any significant difference in price to performance?

Get a RX 5700 then. Cheapest dual or triple fan model you find. It's faster than a 2060 Super and cheaper

Could also up the processor from a 1600 to a 2600, I think the difference is like £5. May be worth it.

@HDshiny try using https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/

It makes it easier for us to see the build you're thinking of...well....building but it also shows you the best current prices for specific parts from different retailers. Just make sure you set the region to UK.

For example:

I updated a few parts such as the GPU (I think the 1660 Ti Ventus is a good card but you can opt for something cheaper if you'd like), PSU (the Corsair RMx power supplies are well reviewed and looked at by the wider community) and case (just picked a cheap, good-value and popular case). The beauty of pc part picker is that you can also swap out parts and see how that affects your overall budget.

No you wouldn't, the B450 boards work on Ryzen 1000, 2000 and 3000 series chips, however the latter requires a bios update to accommodate those Ryzen 3000 chips but that's pretty much the only thing.
