Will Powerline be good for Steam In-Home Streaming

Will it be better to use something like a LINKSYS POWERLINE for streaming to a laptop in another room?

Powerline is terrible in my experience, but it's probably better than wifi. Try both, do a speedtest and file transfer test, then use which ever is faster.

Won't there be a lot of noise / interruptions due to it sharing the same wire as used to power something like a fan.

I use power line Ethernet for my desktop, literally changed my life when my land lords had a shitty router.  Land lords keep the router in their area of the house, I replaced it when they went on vacation, now there's not as big a difference but I still have never had any problems except my girlfriend unplugging it with her feet by accent from time to time.
