*HELP*one gpu fan doesn't work as it's supposed to

I have a gigabyte gtx 1660 ti oc 6g and one of the fan doesn't work as it's supposed to. Yesterday I noticed while playing games that one fan wasn't spinning, I thought it would be because of the dirt etc even tho the comp. isn't even close to being dirty I still cleaned it a little. On boot both the fan span(after the boot both fans stopped spinning) then when I started a game the same problem occurred when I touched the fan it started spinning then I waited for the temps to drop so that the fans would stop spinning and then proceeded to start another game to see if the thing would happen it didn't and the fan worked fine now today the same problem occured

What is the problem? And please tell me the solution also the card is in warranty so should I return it or does the warrant not cover this

When i ask for more specs, don't expect me to know the answer!

because of the inconsistency, the card may be broken, something wrong with a temperature sensor or the fan itself. Reach out to Gigabyte support and see if they would RMA the unit, since it sounds like damage.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

The fans are supposed to spin after reaching a specific temp. And stop when the temp falls this is to make the card silent.

I understand that fan might be broken but I wanted to know what is thing or problem causing the fan not to spin. The fans are supposed to spin after the gpu reaches a specific temp. this to make the card silent if there is something wrong with temperature sensor shouldn't both the fan not spin

the gigabyte fans aren't the best, i had 2/3 fail on me after a year on my 970, i rigged a 80mm noctua fan on and kept using the card for a bit, i'm not recommending that, you should look at warranty

this is a Common Malfunction in Gigabyte Makes . Same Problem Accrued in Several Gigabyte Rx 570 4G Cards .. if you are Still in Warranty Contact them for a Repair or a Replacement , if you keep Using the Card like this for Heavy Gaming you will Eventually Burn the GPU

Thanks a lot everyone. As the card is in warranty I will return it and get a new one. It's in a 3year limited warranty period the 1st year if anything happens to the card except physical burning they will give you a new one while in the other two they will repair it with the exception of physical burning

Please keep following this post as I am going to return it tomorrow and if anything happens I will have to rely on this post since no one around me knows about these things

We ALL know this, Just answer the question. ;)
If they both spin at boot then they are fine. Else get the card RMA'd.

Hello everyone I contacted the shop I purchased the gpu from they are saying this problem is not covered in the warranty(is it?) but they will send the gpu to gigabyte and see what happens

Should I give them the gpu?

why take it to the shop you bought it from? if gigabyte is the one warrantying the card usually that means you contact them to RMA it. That is unless it is some kind of an extended warranty through the shop you purchased it from.

likely all the shop is going to do is the same RMA you would do plus in some cases charge you for the time they spend handling it and/or make up some bogus fees like "they fixed it for $50 so its going to be $50 to get it back"

Thanks. My friend told me to re-install the driver or try an old one since the fans spin boot and it's 50/50 whether they would spin during load after re-installing the fan is spinning fine like it's supposed to I am going to use it for a few days and if the problem arises again I'll RMA it

Update

The same problem occured today. I tried to contact gigabyte but they don't have an official service center in my country their website told me to contact the shop where I bought the gpu from so I contacted the shop the second time they told me that the warranty is issued by gigabyte so wether my card is repaired or I get a new one isn't dependent on them and that they will send the card to them

They told me it would take about 15(minimum)-45(maximum) days for the card to get back to me tho the avg. Time is 15-20 days

I am thinking of giving it to them what do you guys think

Please reply as soon as you guys see this
