Why are blower style GPUs better for ITX builds?

TheBiggestOfBuschemis

ITX builds usually lack airflow. A blower card takes all the air it gets and vents it, keeping the overall temp of other devices lower.

My PowerMac G5 case mod is a perfect example of a poor airflow environment being made worse by an open air cooler:

The intake from a single 80mm fan is starving the card for air, and what air it does get is mostly trapped in the GPU compartment and raises the temp of the card to about 85C when caming. If I had a blower style card, I would be venting all of the hot air from the system.

Thankfully the layout of my case has isolated compartments, so even though my GPU is running hotter than it should, my Storage media is isolated from the rest of the airflow of the system.

It depends on the case. Often in itx cases, the psu ends up very near where an open air graphics card's fans would be and would greatly inhibit airflow. For blower fans, the fan is often unobstructed and has access to fresh air.

Blower Design is Only Bad when it's on a Graphics Card with a Dual GPU Because then the Fan will Push Heat Generated from 1st GPU which is Closer to the Fan Out the Vents Crossing by the 2nd Gpu which is further from the Fan Causing it to Not be Properly Cooled , Other than that ,, Its Great Especially in the Systems where there are not much of Whole System Air Flow
