Leaving thermal paste residue on CPU until next morning?

Howdy fellas, I've noticed while cleaning my new 9900k that I'm out of Isopropyl.

Can I leave that layer of residue on the CPU until the next morning or will it dry / permanently leave traces of it?

you can leave it, its going to be a little harder to remove but not much

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

Spoiler

Okay so thermal pastenin general (Grizzly) will not stick to the ihs when it is left for a couple of hours? I was worried because I kind of already took most of it off with a q tip and left this dirty thin film on it instead of maybe just leaving the whole thermal paste on it until tomorrow, which keeps it more fluid and less dry as it is now.

You can generally just wipe into it a little harder or lightly dampen a paper towel with water so it absorbs and moistens the paste a little better.

It's not going to do anything it wouldn't have under a heatsink.

its not going to be much worse tomorrow, paste stays fluid running at 80C for days and days ya know. get some alcohol or whatever on there and it will wipe right off

I leave it on the CPU for a year while I store the motherboard in the box, and then reuse the same paste and everything still work's fine and low temperatures

it stay's the same as the first day, for upto "10" year's if you read the small print depending on the brand you buy

Thanks, it's just that I've probably built 40 computers in mY life but never ran out of Isopropyl, that's the first time ?
