Control - 2080 ti fps -question 1440p with DLSS

nnn123

Hello. Currently have 2080 Ti Aorus Xtreme Wateforce . Playing Control on 1440P ,all ultra, rtx ultra ,no dlss i have 35fps to 75fps.

But when i use DLSS it upscale to 960p and performance its fine 70-80fps. But image is blurry. I dont have 4k native monitor, only 1440p.

So i guess i must play with bad blurry image?:((

This issue could be driver related. Try uninstalling your display driver with DDU and reinstall it afterwards.

Please mention or quote me if you want a response. :)

Seems a bit low fps for that card on those settings.

You have all the latest drivers installed?

It's not, Control with DXR fully enable can kill your fps in half, it's BF5 all over again.

DLSS

DLSS is dead, the technology failed, try using nVidia sharpening instead while rendering at a lower resolution between 1920x1080p and 2560x1440p to try gaining more performance but preventing blurry effect.

DLSS is by far the worst garbage.  I have never had it turned on and thought it was worth the FPS increase when everything looks like blurry crap.

Control is very taxing, the amount of RTX in it puts a big strain on the GPU.

On the plus side, we are starting to transition from "RTX is overpriced and never used" to..."holy crap RTX looks amazing".  Control is a great example of this, and after playing it with RTX on, I wont be buying any non RTX cards in the future.  Looking forward to even more games using this (ideally when they launch rather than 6 months later!)

Go look at the bench marks 2080ti averages high 40’s at 1440p ultra with max ray racing

I was getting freezes with my GPU overclock so I lost a few frames before I even began. I dropped the clock to +100 and the vram to +800 and I was good again

Right now I am in the 50s at 3840 X 1600.

I removed raytraced indirect diffused lighting because it made ugly shadows on the character.  I also set shadows to medium and switched off SMAA.

Setting the render resolution 3440 X 1440 got the frames into the 60s most of the time and it doesn't look bad.
