H5 Ultimate underperforming? looking to replace it

Mytre

So my problem is simply, my cpu , a 3600x is reaching about 85C or higher sometimes, I have an h5 ultimate with a noctua redux fan 140mm, and 2 intake 140mm noctua fans too.  this is on a meshify C.

I have come to two problems, first my ram is being blocked, and I want to use the 4 ram slots on my pc , and second, well 85C on this cooler , and its enormous, like installing it requries me to first put the motherboard, put somethingg to push the backplate as the backplate is loose, so I can screw it in, if I dont do this and put the cooler first on the motherboard, then I am simply unable to screw 2 screws on my motherboard nor connect the cpu power fan thanks to the case and  the giant cooler.

I want to move to a smaller cooler that performs better but I have no idea if there is any air cooler that performs better and its smaller, or if I have to go for an AIO. Any idea on which cooler I could get that is smaller than the h5 ultimate but performs equal or better at least?  or should I just go for an 240mm aio on top as exhaust  or 280mm aio on the front as intake at this point.

Maybe thermal paste or low mounting pressure is limiting it?

Either the cooler is not mounted well or the CPU is overvolted into oblivion.

What are you using the monitor thermals? Use Ryzen Master since most other applications won't report accurate values

Maybe, i used mx 5 thermal paste, the mounting is probably bad as I said really big cooler, really hard to mount and not helpful that the back plate stays loose until you press it to mount which means I need to mount it outside the case which means I will be unable to screw a couple of screws or plug in the powr, the cooler is big and it becomes an issue to plug in everything else.

it is not overvolted, I do use hwmonitor, but even wit honly ryzen master I still reach high temperatures. idle temps are not my issue, is the highest temperatures.

Remount it - you haven't mounted the cooler properly then. Also get some high end paste.

A smaller cooler isn't necessarily easier to install. Most of the difficulty comes down to the mounting hardware.

You can reseat the cooler with the motherboard already installed. That's what the motherboard tray cutout is for.

Maybe you didn't notice the cutout being covered by the 2.5" drive tray?

I ended up t aking a part my whole computer completely to remount anduse a better thermal paste I had which solved my temperature issue. The problem is that yes I know there is a motherboard tray cutout , but the issue is that the h5 ultimate on my b350 board, leaves the backplate loose, adn you cannot screw the cooler unless you press on the backplate.
