Need a powerful fan

Hi, I am doing an electronics project and need the highest rpm and highest CFM fan I can get. Something like the blowimatron (linustechtips video : 7x your cooling) but it needs to be cheap. I do not care about noise.

Filter by voltage you can use (you can run fans at lower voltage, so for example if you have 18v power supply for your project, you may use 24v fans but they'll run at lower speed)

Then filter by CFM or pressure, depending what you need cooled (you need pressure for going through tightly finned radiators, and high cfm is better for just moving lots of air ex through extruded aluminum heatsinks)

You can sort by price and then pick the best price vs CFM ratio fan that meets your needs... you may not need the top of the line highest CFM fan available.

Also, the same fan may be available in different versions... with only 2 wires (voltage and ground) or 2 wire (+rpm or seize/stop alarm) or 4 wire (pwm) ... you can connect the pwm wire to a motherboard or a fan controller, but careful about powering such big fan from motherboards... most don't do more than 1-1.5A sustained through a fan header. I wouldn't do more than 1A through a motherboard fan header.

@mariushm Thanks. I am making a soldering fume extractor but the extractor is going to end up taking more power then the iron

Be careful about how much air flow you use, because you don't want to make it so fast it sucks screws and parts from the desk

A fume extractor has to be relatively close to the soldering iron tip to pull the fumes through the carbon filter or whatever you're gonna use, so imagine a person holding a 0805 resistor in tweezers trying to solder it to a board and your big fan sucks the part off the tweezers.

@mariushm I am going to use a pwm controller connected to a large capacitor connected to the input (+12v and GND) of the fan to adjust the power to the fan. I normally keep my fume extractor 1 meter away from the iron so my current one is useless. Also, I am going to put two fans and a splitter in a 3D printed enclosure to suck the smoke from my laser cutter so I might need that extra power, Generally, I use through hole components as they are easier to solder and I am not that good with the hot air gun

Well, Delta is always the answer if you want fast fans.

 

If you're looking for consumer products, look at Enermax TwisterStorm 12mm. 3500 RPM monstrosity. 260m3/h and static pressure of 11mm H2O :D It's actually not that loud at 38dB...

Besides being low rpm, it has just average pressure and air flow.  I guess it could be SILENT for the amount of pressure it does.

 

Yours is 37$ for some crappy specs... 62 CFM and 2.75mm H20 44dBa

 

Even this 14$ model has better specs :
