Ram incompatibility? 3700x won't post

Basically took my working ryzen 2600 system, updated bios (asrock B450 gaming itx fatal1ty) to most recent, dropped in 3700x.

No post.  GPU fan max's out, case fans intermittently spin, CPU fan spins like once then stops.  LED's lit up.  Nothing posting on the screen

Is there a potential incompatibility with LPX ram that wasn't happening in ryzen 2000?

I tried both sets I have on hand, both formerly worked.  They are:

2x8gb, 2400mhz:

CMK16gx4m2a2400C16

2x16gb, 3000mhz:

CMK32gx4m2b3000C15

Anyone have thoughts?  I was thinking about grabbing a 3200 or 3600 kit if I can get one at bestbuy but I am surprised 2 different LPX kits failed.  Or is there something else I might be missing?

Try resetting the CMOS, maybe some setting doesn't like the 3000 series

EDIT: And as someone else said, try waiting a bit longer, sometimes when you put in new AMD CPUs it can take a couple of minutes to POST

I love computer hardware and feel free to ask me anything about that (or phones). I especially like SSDs. But please do not ask me anything about Networking, programming, command line stuff, or any relatively hard software stuff. I know next to nothing about that.

Did you have any CPU overclocking presets? Any diagnostic LEDs on perhaps? Does it work with thw 2600?

Have same mobo. Worked fine when I dropped in a 3600 replacing 2600 in it. Then on bios 3.30, although that bios didn't allow my high speed ram to work (ok at 3000). The newer 3.40 bios I have had ram running at 3600 and 4000.

When you first swap it, it can take some time to detect and setup the new CPU before booting, so try leaving it a bit longer. If you want to be safe, try it with the slower ram in first.

Main system: i9-7980XE, Asus X299 TUF mark 2, Noctua D15, Corsair Vengeance Pro 3200 3x 16GB 2R, RTX 3070, NZXT E850, GameMax Abyss, Samsung 980 Pro 2TB, Acer Predator XB241YU 24" 1440p 144Hz G-Sync + HP LP2475w 24" 1200p 60Hz wide gamut

I let it do its thing for a good 10 minutes this last time.  Same cycle now, fans on, CPU fan speed seems to vary itself up and down, then eventually (30 seconds) whole things clicks off and back on by itself, cycle repeats.  GPU keeps just cranking up to 100% fans and sitting there.

I did reset the CMOS, but no change unfortunately.

No OC, I was letting XFR just do its thing before.  Works with 2600, both sets of RAM.

Im debating on whether or not to just grab a kit I know should work (and one I would want to buy anyways) and then if that doesn't work RMA the thing.

I have tried everything short of buying a x570 mobo, as every other part of the system works with Ryzen 2600, and the exact memory is listed on corsairs website as compatible with ryzen 3000.  It has to be a dud CPU, or their 3700x is buggy on this specific B450 board.  Either way, this has already been far too much time wasted for a brand new product to work in a system it is advertised to work in.

Back in goes the 2600!  See ya in hell 3700x!
