Well it needs to be reliable, otherwise it's not very usefull for a home server.

The OS disk is not used a lot by a server (depends on what kind of server it is), so it does not really matter that much, but I usually go with SanDisk SSD's.

I see, I will check those. Will a 32gb be enough tho, or should I go with 60/64gb?

Depends on the OS, for Linux, a 32GB is more then enough, for Windows it depends on the server version, I do not know the requirements for Windows Home server 2011, but I usually go for a 60/64GB.

Thanks, haven't settled on an OS yet, so I will properly find a 60/64gb SSD :)

I run a 60 GB SSD in my current Linux server. It's far more space than the OS will

ever need, but I have found it useful to have a bit of spare space for shuffling

files around and such.

Besides, the only 32 GB SSD I know of and which I could actually still buy at any

of the retailers I tend to use is SanDisk's ReadyCache.

EDIT: It's an Intel 330 btw., and my next server (also Linux) will be using

a 120 GB Intel 520 SSD (I'll be running a few VMs on it, so the additional space

will come in handy).

If you go for windows get the cheapest 120GB SSD you can find, just to have that extra headroom. Make sure you have frequent backups too as you never know when something can go wrong. If you fill up an SSD it gets ssslllooowww.

Why do i always get blue screens? Why not a red one for a change?

I have an 256gb SSD in my gaming computer, and it's almost full, haven't seen a decrease in performance. But will I really need to get a 120gb if I'm going with windows? If that's true, I will most likely go with Linux

Wow sorry about my previous post. The truth is that Windows Home Server 2011 has a minimum requirement of 160GB of OS drive. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_Home_Server_2011#System_requirements

That's a lot... Think I will save the money and go with Linux and a 64gb SSD

WHS2011 default config requires 160GB but you just need to change a line in the INI file and you can do it with smaller drives. I just did this last night on an old OCZ 60GB SSD.

While this may be a good solution, I think it will be easier to use Linux, but thanks for your reply, it may help another :D
